Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

Duties
• Review the materials which includes but not limited to the items such as Seals, Valves, O-rings, Bearings, Pumps, Batteries, OCTG’s etc.

All Cataloguers are required to perform the following duties
• Responsible for the standardization of materials master data which shall eliminate ordering of duplicate materials.
• Data cleansing and enrichment, walk down and inspection of warehouse items (spare parts), developing buying specification and additional characteristics as per COMPANY standards by taking measurements/inspections, identifying the discrepancies between the actual item characteristics/measurements physically in stock, existing reference documents, and the catalogue information available in SAP.
• Capturing the relevant information from manufacturer's catalogues and other reference documents.
• Ensuring that the finished materials master data description in SAP can be used by Purchasing Department to replenish the item without additional information.
• Review existing master data and ensure relevant information is suitably enhanced, properly checked for errors and duplication, in order to maintain the highest possible standards in the Material Master Data.
• Standardise the description format in a logical sequence based on COMPANY’s Standardization rules for cataloguing as per the annexure-1 attached.
• Cataloguer to ensure technical information is relevant and accurate.
• Use the standard material Master abbreviations to add new items or update/extend/deactivate existing items. Refer appendix-1 attached.
• Ensuring that the two-year spares are thoroughly reviewed against existing materials to avoid duplicate catalogue descriptions for the same item.
• Update all the relevant information i.e. Price, UOM, Valuation type, Lead time, Warehouse Number etc. in SAP Material Master and ensure all required fields are accurately completed.
• Assist Requisition Originators, Lines, Buyers and the Materials team in identifying the correct materials both for stores issue and purchasing, and resolve queries related to cataloguing.
• Coordinate with lines/ Buyers to obtain specific data from suppliers to correctly identify the materials in stock, or to create accurate materials master data descriptions when there is no physical stock, and assist Purchasing in specifying the right item to the supplier based on technically correct descriptions
• Liaise with Global Material Data Management in the management of the SAP Material Master function.
• Responsible for flagging within the materials master data any obsolete / inactive items in coordination with operations and supply chain leads.
• Cataloguers are to observe and comply with all regulations in line with the COMPANY requirements and must adhere to the COMPANY’s code of Business conduct.

Requirements

Qualifications
• Successful completion of Bachelor degree preferably in relevant discipline followed by ten (10) years of progressive experience in energy sector.

Knowledge
• Graduate with work experience of minimum ten (10) years in inventory, material management, material mastering related to material standards and specifications in the oil & gas industries.
• Working Knowledge in similar discipline in a multi-national company with medium to large size Infrastructure.
• High degree of expertise in own discipline;
• Sound and proven knowledge of material/inventory and data management
• Work experience in middle east.
