Job description / Role
As an Expert-3G Optimisation Engineer you will expected to utilise WCDMA/3G experience to ensure that the Radio Network Node is world class and that customer perception is optimised. You will also be expected to transfer/develop the existing team.
You will be making decisions on radio features and provides expertise on optimising and tuning the Radio Network. You will be defining recommended strategies and principles for Radio Network optimisation. You will be initiate new ideas of optimization , and initiate new way of reporting to reflect the network capacity and quality. You will be monitoring overall Radio Network performance and takes any necessary action to improve it. You will Ensures that the RNC's radio network quality KPI's are of world class standard. You will ensure the newly integrated sites are tuned and provide optimum performance with reference to existing nodes, clearing trouble tickets on time. Responsibilities shall also include:
*Performing parameter consistency checks in the network and proposes new parameter values to enhance the network overall quality.Â
*Performing related tuning on load sharing features, Directed Retry.
*Aiding in developing the competitiveness of junior radio optimisation engineers.
*Providing technical interface between Network Core and Radio group for new node integration which has direct impact on subscriber perception.
Requirements
You have a Bachelors Degree in Communication Engineering with the following experience:
Minimum of 6 years experience in Radio optimization and minimum of 3 years in WCDMA Network optimization
Proficiency in the usage of existing Ericsson RNO tools, WMRR, WNCS, Business Object, GEPEH, UTER, CTR and ACTIX
Excellent analytical skills using in TEMS Drivetest Investigation
Practical experience in optimizing HSDPA throughput and performance
A strong understanding of Ericsson Radio Network Features.
Strong Transmission (ATM+IP) monitoring and optimization skills
*Valid driver's license and good driving skills.
*Good MS Office skills.
*Familiar in MS Excel statistical functions.
*Good problem solving skills.
*Good project management skills.
*Good communication skills.
*Very good written and spoken English.
*Good written and spoken Arabic is desirable.
