Head of Spare Parts

Job description / Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Head of Spare Parts to join our team in the automobile industry in Oman. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing the spare parts department, managing inventory, and ensuring efficient supply chain management for automobile spare parts.

Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement strategies to optimize spare parts inventory and streamline supply chain processes.
- Budget forecasting, P & L management
- Manage and lead a team of spare parts professionals, providing guidance and support to ensure departmental goals are met.
- Work closely with principles, suppliers and vendors to negotiate pricing, terms, and agreements to ensure cost-effective procurement of spare parts.
- Monitor and analyze spare parts sales data, market trends, and customer demands to forecast inventory needs and make informed purchasing decisions.
- Collaborate with other departments such as sales, service, and logistics to ensure seamless coordination and timely delivery of spare parts to meet customer needs.
- Implement and maintain best practices for spare parts management, including inventory control, stock rotation, and quality assurance.
- Ensure compliance with industry regulations, safety standards, and quality control measures for all spare parts and inventory management processes.
- Contribute to the development of marketing and sales strategies for spare parts, including promotions, pricing, and product positioning to drive sales and revenue growth.

Requirements

- Engineering Degree (Mechanical/Automobile), Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field. Master's degree is a plus.
- Proven experience in dealing with principles, spare parts management, supply chain logistics, or procurement, in the automobile industry.
- Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a high-performing team.
- Excellent negotiation and vendor management skills, with a track record of achieving cost savings and favorable agreements.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret sales data, market trends, and financial reports to make data-driven decisions.
- Familiarity with inventory management systems, ERP software, and other tools for tracking and managing spare parts inventory.
- Solid understanding of automotive spare parts, technical specifications, and quality standards to ensure accurate procurement and distribution.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills to work cross-functionally with internal teams and external partners.
- Problem-solving attitude with the ability to adapt to changing business needs and market dynamics.
- Experience working in Oman or the Gulf is a must (Based in Muscat will be an advantage).
- Would prefer candidates below 45 years of age.
