Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

You will be responsible for the legal affairs of the entire company. This role includes providing legal counsel to the board of directors, chairman of the board, chief executive officer and other senior management. You must possess strong initiative, as well as excellent management and leadership skills and strong business acumen.

Duties:

• Developing and leading company legal strategy to promote and protect the company's matters
• Developing and leading internal audit and corporate compliance programs
• Overseeing delivery of legal services and resources to accomplish corporate goals, strategies and priorities
• Maintaining proper corporate interactions with the relevant local, state and governmental bodies, legislatures and the community at large
• Advising the VP and other senior corporate officers on a variety of issues
• Participating in the formulation of general management policy as a member of the executive management team
• Managing a team of corporate counsel and other members of the legal department

Salary:
OMR 900 to 1,600 per month inclusive of fixed allowances.

Requirements:

• Proven experience as a legal counsel in business environment
• Excellent knowledge and understanding of corporate law and procedures
• Full comprehension of the influences of the external environment of a corporation
• Demonstrated ability to create legal defensive or proactive strategies
• High degree of professional ethics and integrity
• Sound judgement and ability to analyse situations and information
• BSc degree in Law or L.L.M. degree
• MA or BSc in Business Administration; and an applicable state license to practice law will be considered an advantage.

About the Company

Al Shomoukh International School (SIS) is a new KG to Grade 12 global school in Muscat. Established by Global Education Services (GES) the school opened for the 2015/16 school year in Al Hail.

A new school has been constructed and, combined with an international curriculum and excellent staff, the school intends to become one of the outstanding international schools in Muscat. It will draw students from both the local Omani and expatriate community. Both will be rewarded with an education experience of the highest order.
