Operation

Supervisory activities
• Act as the focal point to flying captains, make unplanned - unscheduled decision due to external factors and coordinate to advice outstations crew, crew control on their operation timings in order to update changes and avoid discrepancies throughout flight movements.
• Liaise and inform flight captains on escalated-abnormal issues such as NOTAM (Runway Closures , Night Curfew , Industrial strikes , Slot issues) and follow up to ensure timely resolution of escalated issues.
• Control and supervise the daily operations activities during the shift ensuring adequate handling of abnormal operations and provide Flight Dispatch, Crew Control and Flight Crew with necessary information and assistance.
• Monitor and provide the operating crew with anticipated-reported adverse weather information, en-route or at destination and alternates and all operational matters such as curfew hours, weather minima, ATC strike, fuel availability, airport closure and runway conditions or any other information which effect the safety of the flight.
• Preparation of Daily OTP Reports only with delays attributed to Flight Operations Department and submitted to Management for review.
• In the absent of Duty Manager – IOCC Take over the responsibilities of Duty Manager - IOCC

Fleet Watch Management System
• Closely monitor Oman Air flight movement through Fleet Watch Management System and make applicable changes-Aircraft Swaps to the daily flight schedule within the Operations Control Period (within 72 hours) in order to maintain on time performance of fleet operations.
• Coordinate with Commercial, Engineering and Crew control departments in order to handle and response to any flight disruptions as per company’s policies and procedures
• Prepare Oman Air Flight Movement-Tail Assignment for next 24 hours in coordination with Schedule Planning-Commercial & Engineering planning and distribute to all operational areas within the company-leased aircraft company bases-fuelling companies at base and all outstations via SITA-email as applicable
• Constantly monitor and update Fleet Watch Management System with missing movement messages in coordination with outstations, PDO, OXY and KHS stations.
• Coordinate with Captain and refer to journey logs in order to update the Fleet Watch Management System with correct delay reason codes as applicable.
• Monitor daily flight schedule for all PDO flights and ensure to update Fleet Watch Management System if it differs from weekly schedule making sure that correct schedule is available in the system within Operations Control Period( 72 hours)
• Create additional Flights-Training Flights-Charter Fights in the Fleet Watch Management System within the Operations Control Period(48 hours)
• Closely monitor all ACARS messages and take action as applicable.
• System Failure Reporting

Constantly check all systems operational in the Operations Control Centre and ensure to report all system failures-bugs or any other malfunctions in the following systems to the management.
• Fleet Watch Management System
• Sabre Reservation System
• Aircom Server - SAT COM
• Flight Explore
• Any other system used by Operations Control Centre

• Assist Emergency Response Centre(ERC)

In case of Aircraft accident-incident, notify all concerned departments and ERC members as per Emergency Response Plan (ERP) and ensure that all ERC members follow and carries possessions as per the ERC checklist.


Requirements

Bachelor degree in a related discipline with 02 years of relevant experience.

OR Diploma holder in related discipline preferably in Aviation with 04 years of relevant experience.

OR Specialised certificate / license in Flight Dispatcher License or Certificate with Secondary School Certificate having 08 years of WY / Aviation experience in similar functions. (*internal candidates).
