Charterhouse is undertaking a search for an investment firm, who are focused on the blockchain technology space. Continued regional growth has led them to expand their Data Centre. This organisation is now actively looking to hire a Plant Supervisor based in Oman.

The Plant Supervisor is responsible for the day-to-day supervision and safety of all data center personnel. Tasks relating to the role will be executed in collaboration with management and co-workers to ensure the highest levels of communication, support and advice.

The candidate must have the ability to understand basic MEP/ Electrical concepts and perform corrective actions or consult with relevant parties when required to do so. Ability to perform physical job duties which may include bending, the candidate may be required to lift up to 20Kg occasionally, kneeling, climbing, crawling, and twisting safely. Basic use of a computer with Microsoft office applications is required. The candidate must be able to work in various weather, industrial settings & elevated areas (8 feet and above).

The candidate must have an understanding of basic Health and Safety site requirements & awareness of security issues and related policies. Other responsibilities will include managing staff, resolving staff conflicts as well as dealing with suppliers, contractors and government officials.

Requirements

To be considered for this role, the candidate must be able to work in Salalah, Oman & should have a minimum 2 years’ experience related to the IT field with operation. This candidate should be a problem solver and be able to deal with issues at site. Supervisory skills training & site exposure or similar is preferred.

Flexibility to be available for a variety of shifts (shift work, night-shift, weekends, holidays and on-call) is required. The candidate must have excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal. Additionally, Arabic language is preferred.
