Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Principal / Lead Instrumentation Engineer to lead the project instrumentation and control team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing the design, development, implementation of instrumentation and control systems and processes in various industrial settings. The role requires strong technical expertise in instrumentation engineering, leadership skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities:
• Lead the design and development of instrumentation systems for Oil and Gas Sector, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and project requirements.
• Provide technical expertise and guidance to the instrumentation engineering team throughout all phases of projects, from conceptualization to implementation leading to commissioning support.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to define project scope, objectives, and deliverables.
• Conduct feasibility studies, design workshops, HAZOP, LOPA and risk assessments for proposed instrumentation solutions, identifying potential challenges and proposing mitigation strategies.
• Evaluate and select appropriate instrumentation technologies, components, and suppliers based on project requirements and budget constraints.
• Oversee the installation, testing, and commissioning of instrumentation systems, ensuring functionality and reliability.
• Troubleshoot complex technical issues related to instrumentation systems, identifying root causes, and implementing corrective actions.
• Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in instrumentation engineering, and incorporate relevant advancements into project designs.
• Mentor and coach junior engineers, providing guidance on technical skills development, project management, and professional growth.
• Prepare material requisition for instrumentation long lead items (hydraulic power units, Remote Terminal Units and PLC systems, Multi Phase Flow Meters and Wet Gas Measurement etc.) vendor document review and participation in Factory Acceptance Tests.
• Interface with client Instrumentation Engineer on a day-to-day business and resolution / lead technical discussion related to issues on Instrumentation and Control systems

Requirements

Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Instrumentation Engineering. Advanced degree (Master's or Ph.D.) preferred.
• Minimum of 15 years of experience in instrumentation engineering, with a proven track record of designing and implementing instrumentation systems for Oil and Gas applications.
• Strong expertise in instrumentation technologies, including sensors, transmitters, control and choke valves, PLCs, SCADA systems, DCS/ICSS and data acquisition systems.
• Experience and exposure to Yokogawa CENTUM and STARDOM is preferred.
• Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to effectively manage and motivate a team of engineers.
• Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail, with a focus on delivering high-quality results.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Knowledge of regulatory standards and industry best practices related to instrumentation engineering, such as ISA, IEC, and ANSI standards.
• Professional certifications such as Certified Instrumentation and Control Technician (CICT) or Professional Engineer (PE) license is a plus.
• Experience in industries such as oil and gas, petrochemicals, power generation, or pharmaceuticals is highly desirable.
• Experience in Cyber Security requirements for automation systems
