Procurement Manager - FMCG – Muscat, Oman – Big Fish

Our client is a leading Service Provider, with a head office in Muscat, Oman. They are currently seeking an Procurement Manager - FMCG to join their team. The role will report to the Supply Chain Director and will be responsible for overseeing and managing company's overall supply chain and logistics strategy and operations in order to maximize the process efficiency and productivity.

- Plans, directs, and manages primarily, the locally sourced products and services activities of the Company.
- Implement procurement strategies to maintain security of supply and optimum value for money.
- Perform and review all procurement and contracting activities including pre-qualification of vendors, tender management, negotiation, and preparation of contracts.
- Review and approve all the POs and contracts in the system.
- Set policy and guidelines for delivering commercial and cost-effective procuring process for the business.
- Develop and maintain key relationships with stakeholders and strategic supply partners to improve business.
- Implement and adopt to change and develop new processes to procure goods and services efficiently.
- Negotiate contracts to obtain the best price and service.
- Identify cost reduction opportunities to achieve financial goals.
- Analyze market and delivery trends to be in line with market conditions.
- Identify areas for improvements to continuously drive performance and results.

Requirements

- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, business, marketing or related field
- 12 to 15 years of experience as a Supply Chain Manager or similar role
- Practical working knowledge of frozen products like poultry items, meat, fish and beef variants.
- GCC experience in similar role, heading/buying for Industrial Kitchens and or big catering companies.
- Knowledge of other food and non-food products normally used in the above-mentioned industries.
