Employment: Full Time

The Retail Operations Manager will be in charge of promoting the Business Unit within the country, region and on a global scale. They will be expected to :

* Deliver exceptional service
* Ensure sales, margin and profit are achieved in line with overall business strategy
* Oversee and manage the day to day retail operations effectively and efficiently
* Maximising sales
* Ensuring security of stocks and cash

Client Details

The client is a one of the world's largest travel retailers. They have a world wide presence a range of duty free and duty paid retail outlets across the Middle East, Asia Pacific, Europe and the Americas.

Description

The key responsibilities of this role include

* Drive retail business turnover and profits
* Ensure maximum sales and profits are achieved
* Planning, forecasting and allocation of resources
* Lead, manage and develop the Retail Management Team
* Ensure the delivery of exceptional customer service and shop floor standards
* Maximise financial returns from retail operations
* Ensure sales targets are met through liaising with Duty Managers and Supervisors
* Motivating the Retail Management Team to ensure sales growth via customer satisfaction
* Managing staffing levels to meet demands (off peak and in peak)
* Driving improvements leading to an increased sales (shift excellence/rostering tools/real-time sales analysis)
* Implement and drive improvements leading to better On-Shelf Availability
* Providing leadership, motivation and ongoing coaching within the operation to creating a successful environment for staff
* Liase with the MIS, Finance Department, Purchasing, Security, DM's, Marketing and Merchandisers to maximise sales and return on sales for the business
* Working with Buying and Marketing Teams to deliver exceptional product to customer (including promotions)
* Coordinating with the Retail Management Team and Training Manager to deliver and ensure training to the shop floor team
* Working with the logistics team to minimise stock loss, ensure shelf availability targets of 97%
* Working closely with the Buyers to perform product range reviews to drive profitability and reducing aged stock
* Driving growth and implementing change programmes with the Retail Management Team
* Monitoring local developments that can affect the nature of the business
* Act as a key influence between the Airport Operations and the Business Unit Management Team
* Ensure day to day smooth running of the retail space
* Resolving operational issues with Airport Operations Team
* Ensuring fair and consistent performance management culture
* Supervising regular reviews of shop floor staff and working with the General Manager to asses Duty Managers

Requirements

The ideal candidate will

* Have a proven track record in the development and operation of retail operations (8+ year's experience)
* Have a third level qualification in a relevant business discipline
* Be Sales and Performance driven
* Have strong management and proven interpersonal ability
* Hold significant stakeholder management experience
* Possess the ability to identify and evaluate opportunities for and to implement change
* Possess the ability to adapt to varying cultures, work ethics and practices
* Be self-motivated and able to develop a result orientated environment
* Be inspirational and can develop motivated goals orientated team
* Strong Financial and Commercial acumen
* Travel Retail experience desirable
* Experience in Buying/Supply Chain operations
