Job description / Role
• Formulate and implement IT Strategy and Policy for the Company to support realization of the goals and Business Plans by optimal leveraging of technology
• Recommend the IT infrastructure and office technology including Hardware, Software, office equipment, network, remote location connectivity
• Set standards and parameters for choice of applications, assess alternatives and recommend optimal solutions
• Responsible for advising and implementing security controls
• Ensure efficient and uninterrupted functioning of IT systems and minimize downtime
• Enhance IT literacy and efficiency of Users through User orientation and training programs
• Establish a strong panel of vendors and effectively manage vendor relationships
• Direct the activities of the IT department
• Direct projects to ensure on-time completion and delivery to users
• Drive business efficiency and growth through technology
• Enhance visibility for Vision through impactful IT initiatives
• Manage connectivity with external systems of insurance sector or regulator such as Royal Oman Police servers
Principal Challenges:
• Changing technology environment
• Tactfully manage projects and project participants to ensure completion of projects on schedule
• Responding at speed to User demands and calls for trouble shoot up, modifications and enhancements to applications
• Ensuring security of data from virus and hacking
• Manage IT resource allocation in response to user requests
Requirements
Minimum Academic/Professional Qualification:
• Degree in Engineering from a 4-year program majoring in Computers, Electronics or higher equivalent from a University of high repute
• Accredited professional IT qualification
Minimum Work Experience:
• 15 years in IT functions in insurance company or as provider of IT solutions with minimum 4 years in lead position in IT

• Knowledge and hands on experience in Application development
