Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

Strategic
- Provides strategic direction for the development of complex system solutions to maximise efficiency and minimise operating costs
- Prepares annual budgets for Airline Applications section and manage expenditures within the approved budget.

Operational
- Responsible for the administration and management of the company’s. Airline related systems, including the E-Commerce, Engineering, Flight Operations and Commercial Systems aspects and related functionality, such as Payment Gateways, Dynamic Currency Conversion, Google Adwords and Google Analytics reporting
- Oversee the operations being carried out by the subordinates and assist them in timely resolution of all design and deployment queries
- Management, support & maintenance of the airline applications environment,
- Liaise with Applications Systems teams throughout the project timelines in Identification, Analysis & Evaluation of business requirements and in providing appropriate solutions, and development of supporting business case & proposals.
- Perform analysis & documentation of business processes & requirements to oversee the successful completion of the project
- Responsible for the quality, structure, movement, cleansing and management of data and information within the organisation.
- Ensure appropriate structuring and enrichment of data in the transaction and decision support environments, and the presentation of quality data for use by data consumers are in accordance with the IT policies and procedures set by the company
- Liaise with the user department to identify the business needs and opportunities for improved data management and delivery of Applications & E-Commerce solutions
- Conduct project post mortems and create a recommendations report in order to identify successful and unsuccessful project elements.

People Development
- Identifies staff requirements in a timely manner and ensure the training and development of IT staff with emphasis on the employment of Omanis.
- Provides leadership to all members of the Applications
- Performs routine administrative activities required of a section head (leave approval, delegation of authority etc.)
- Ensures Applications & E-Commerce staff operates within specified competency levels. Identify when external support is required

Requirements

- Bachelor degree in Computer Engineering or any related discipline with 10 years of relevant work experience in Information Technology, preferable 5 years managing IT projects in Airlines or Aviation.
- Post Graduate degree / diploma in Engineering or Management and PMP certification will be preferable.
