Job description / Role
Strategy
- Ensure costs and expenses are correctly captured in the books of accounts, Provisions and Pre-paid transactions are properly reflected in the books of accounts to facilitate variance analysis.
- Ensure Revenues of the Airport Service group business units are correctly captured and develop procedures that prevent leakage of revenue.
- To review and update the Accounting and Finance manual on a periodic basis. Also to ensure that the activities of Finance department are in adherence to the Policies and Procedures.
- To simplify and review internal operational procedures for better internal control l and flow of activities
- To facilitate submission of financial projections for long term plans of the company as advised
Operation
- Review monthly performance reports of Airport Service Group and submit performance reports to the senior management in order.
- Review monthly performance reports, quarterly and annual financial statements.
- Review and submit reports on major operational costs of Airline division, Airport Service Group and Corporate expenditure.
- Review internal audit reports of the finance sections and ensure that corrective action are taken and avoid recurrence of such issues, thereby enhancing process improvements.
- Review Balance sheet account reconciliations of Expenditure & Cost Control section, ASG departments and all Outstation finance including Salalah on quarterly basis in order to ensure that they are void of any discrepancies. If any discrepancies are found, take necessary action in coordination with the respective section personnel.
- Ensure in-direct tax filings at the outstations are carried out within the time-frames and follow-up through the finance representatives at outstations for finalization - Assessment - Refund due.
- Maintain a database of all expenditure related contracts and prepare salient features covering financial implications of all major contracts.
- Review the present workflow and ensure adequate internal controls - checks are implemented.
- Analyze - Review major variance of expenditure accounts and assist MIS in preparing the monthly management reports.
- Ensure sales - service invoices are raised by ASG finance sections in accordance with the contract - tariff within each invoicing cycle for all services rendered during the month
- Ensure database of statistical information such as flights handled, passenger information, meals catered, cargo tonnage handled etc., are correctly classified, updated and maintained at all times.
- Monitor and address process improvements in work related areas for simplification of work methods.
- Automate finance processes to minimize human interventions to enhance productivity.
- Ensure compliance with legal and audit requirements
People Development
- Prepare the sectional(Expenditure & Cost Control - Airport Service Group finance & Salalah) objectives for each year and to review the performance plans for each individual
- Review job allocation on a periodical basis and ensure optimum utilization of resources.
- Review - prepare the performance appraisal for all subordinates
- Carry out preliminary screening of candidates and conduct interviews for finance positions and organize for final selection process in coordination with HR & CFO.
Requirements
- Bachelor Degree in Accounting / Commerce / Business studies
- With Professional qualification such as ACCA / ACA / CIMA / CPA / CWA having 12 years of post-qualification work experience in handling similar role in a reputed organization of which 3 years in a Managerial role.
- Master Degree in the related field will be an advantage
