Job Description:

Accountabilities
- Ensure all projects comply with company and regulatory standards and to the agreed end user requirements and establishes control within an ISO certified quality assurance system.
- Ensures sufficient and suitable resources and equipment are available to complete correctly all project work.
- Initiates and develops specific procedures, work instructions, inspection and testing schedules and ensures section compliance. Establish the office engineering section quality assurance system and acts as the management nominated representative.
- Co-ordinate development of the project management systems (including cap. cost) and ensure that monthly financial and physical reports are issued and that they are accurate, user friendly and fully utilised by all sections.
- Ensure structured development of Oman nationals to fill line positions and oversee the career and competence development of section members.
- Establish annual operating budget for the section and obtain management approval. Manage the budget by establishing reasons for deviation and obtain prior approval.
- Introduce systems and tools to the complex that will continuously and where possible in a step change, improve the availability of the Complex Focal point for the production and approval of the annual capex budget
- That work is carried out by the section in accordance with complex HSE policy and procedures. Act as company representative at the contractor HSE committee.
- Coach and transfer of knowledge and skills to subordinates.

Challenges
- The OLNG complex will be situated in an undeveloped area with no infrastructure to support the section activities. From a green field site introduction of competent contractors, staff and suitable equipment is essential.
- The incumbent will need to contribute by personal involvement at all levels in establishing a culture based on commercial and technical transparency, professional competence and common focused commitment to reliability. This in an organisation, which will be established from a diverse group of people from across the globe having differing experience and values.

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS & BACKGROUND:

- Graduate with a BSc in an Engineering Science (Electrical, chemical or mechanical)
- 15 years' experience in the Oil & Gas industry of which at least 10 years must have been in project engineering or construction with 3 years in a senior position.

What you will bring

Technical and Industry Experience
- Substantial technical, practical and leadership experience in the relevant discipline and proven experience in project engineering on smaller projects, with associated commercial and contractual experience.

Education - Qualifications, Accreditation, Training

Required:
A recognised engineering degree in the relevant discipline or equivalent.

Preferred:
- Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) status
- Eligible for Certified Practising Project Practitioner (CPPP) certification or equivalent
