Structural / Bridge Design Engineer

Job description / Role

This job vacancy is for a full-time permanent position with a European Engineering Construction Consultancy for their offices in Oman in the Middle East. Candidates should meet ALL the requirements listed.

ROLE
• In this position, you will be engaged in the design of Bridge Structures, superstructure substructure and foundations.
• You will use your experience of the relevant international design practices and standards to oversee and provide the Bridge Designs
• In addition, You will carry out calculations, coordinate the preparation of drawings and prepare design reports and specifications.
• Independently develop engineering designs for Bridge and Structures projects
• In addition, Prepare detailed calculations, drawings, specifications, procurement documents, proposal evaluations, and technical reports.
• You will also manage junior engineers working in your department and coordinate production with other departments.

SALARY & BENEFITS
• This is a full-time permanent position
• A Total package of 1200-1300 OMR per month( this figure includes accommodation and transport).
• In addition, Medical insurance cover is provided on top of the basic salary
• Mobilization flights and visa costs.

REQUIREMENTS
• A Pure Designer - Someone with Structural Bridge Design experience.
• We are not seeking Project Management or Construction Management candidates for this vacancy.
• Highly skilled in Structural Engineering and Bridge Design, conversant with different kinds of superstructure, substructure and foundations.
• Circa 10+ years of experience.
• Please note we are not seeking anymore than 13 years experience, this is reflected in the salary.
• A BSc degree in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering
• In addition a Masters Degree Qualification in a related subject, such as structural engineering or Design Engineering
• Strong understanding of international standards such as AASHTO, ACI and European Standards
• Familiar with software such as SAP STAAD CSi Bridge/ Midas civil and ETABS
• Excellent English language skills.
• Some experience in building structures design and steel structures

Salary:
OMR 1,100 to 1,300 per month inclusive of fixed allowances.
