Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

This position is responsible for facilitating TNS in attaining its objectives with regards to academic excellence (effective teaching, effective learning) & professional development WITH the objective of capacity building and upholding the learning and development philosophy WITHIN the limitations of School Operations Manual, Company Policies and directives of the senior management.

THE ROLE Curriculum development, implementation and observations (60%)

* Gather guidelines for Head Office Academics department and develop content accordingly.
* Research various IB sources including library books and make content within the corporate guidelines.
* Develop content specific activities and relevant schedules on the activities that need to be cascaded such as role play on parent teacher meetings.
* Conduct coordination meetings with teachers to identify issues and to design support.
* Present developed ideas to School Heads and get necessary approvals.
* Cascade activities and gather feedback from heads.
* Continuously monitor progress of IB policy and teachers in various programs.
* Share reports and feedback with SH.

Professional Development of staff (40%)

* In conjunction with SH, identify training needs and evaluate instructional professional development training plans, formally and informally both.
* Provide support, professional development, training and/or coaching to teachers within designated span of control.
* Support teachers in effective lesson planning and curriculum implementation.
* Monitor teaching staff daily via Class Room Observations (CRO) and copy checking to provide coaching and evolution of academic approaches.
* Devise strategies to improve language and teaching skills of teachers, where applicable.

Requirements

THE PERSON

The ideal candidate has:

* Master's in Education or equivalent
* 8-10 years of overall experience in IB teaching and administration
* Comprehensive knowledge of curriculum development principals and trends.
* Comprehensive knowledge of key teaching and learning methodologies relevant to designated age group.
* Thorough understanding of IB teaching methodologies.
* Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office, Internet usage and general computer usage.

THE PACKAGE

* Gross monthly salary will be £40,732 - £49,783 Depending on Experience.
* House rent (with basic furnishing) PKR 110,000 per month (an excellent rent in Pakistan)
* Company-provided 24-hour security guard at home (building security will be communal in an apartment building)
* Utility allowance PKR 20,000/- per month (including running cost of generator)
* Mobile phone allowance PKR 3,000/- per month
* Company maintained & insured car (1300cc) with 125 litres of petrol per month
* Company provided driver
* Medical insurance (local health insurer; hospitalization only)
* Economy class airfare at the time of joining (one way) and conclusion of the contract (one way) for employee and immediate family
* 1 return economy class airfare at the end of each contract year for employee and immediate family
* Leave entitlements will be commensurate with company policy

CONTRACT

* This is a three (03) year contract with an option to renew upon its completion.
