Job description / Role
Art Teacher required for Middle-Secondary grades in an International School using the British Curriculum .
Develop lesson plans and themes in line with curriculum objectives specific for teaching ART at appropriate grade levels. Instruct through lectures, discussions, and demonstrations. Use computers, audiovisual aids, and other equipment and materials to supplement presentations. Adapt teaching methods and instructional materials to meet the varying needs and interests of students. Facilitate learning by establishing a relationship with students and organizing learning resources and the classroom environment.
Meeting with parents or guardians, teachers, counselors and administrators to resolve any possible behavioural or academic problems. Attend professional development workshops and educational conferences in order to maintain and improve professional competence. Establish and enforce rules for class management and student behaviour. Prepare, administer, and grade tests and assignments to evaluate student progress.
Required Qualifications:
Must have a Bachelor Degree in Art or Fine Arts from a recognized University in UK, US, CA, AU, NZ, ZA (UK preferred as it is a British Curriculum )
TEACHING QUALIFICATION FROM ONE OF THE FOLLOWING COUNTRIES: UK, US, CA, AU, NZ, ZA and Scandinavian countries ( Due to Visa Restrictions )
- Must have excellent English Communications skills and able to pass an IELTS exam at 6.5 level
- Must have excellent classroom management skills and able to deal effectively with student behaviour issues
Required Experience:
- Minimum 2 years ART teaching experience at Middle-Secondary grade levels
- Culturally sensitive, dependable, flexible and able to work in a continuously changing environment
Monthly Salary Range:
- TAX FREE Monthly salary from QAR 11,000 - 13,000 depending on qualifications and experience
Requirements:
Housing:
- 1 or 2 bedroom furnished apartment depending on family status
- Transportation provided to and from school accommodation for first 2 months
- OR Housing Allowance provided depending on family size
- Utilities paid at QAR 300 for Singles and 500 for Married
Health Insurance Coverage:
- Medical insurance for employee only. Insurance is not expensive in Qatar
Annual Air Tickets:
- Annual Cash Air Fare for Employee and 1 dependent (Spouse or 1 child) equivalent to economy ticket price back to home country
Leave:
- Annual Leave as per School Calendar and official holidays in the country, as per Labour Law in country
Dependant School Fees:
- 100% for 1 dependent attending same school as employee
Visa & Medical Check Fees:
- Fees for Residency Visa will be paid for employee ONLY for procedures done in Qatar. . Employee is responsible for fees for dependents.
End Of Service Benefit:
- One month Basic Salary paid for each year worked at end of service according to Labour Law of the country
Contract Period:
- 1 - 2 year contract - renewable
