Asphalt Supervisor

Job description / Role

• Responsible for maintaining the highest levels of Safety, Health, Environmental and Cost Control, achieving performance through successfully managing the multi-cultural Asian workforce in a challenging environment
• Daily reporting on key performance areas to the business unit manager
• On daily basis train and motivate foremen and gangs to support development
• Recommendations on the improvement of the productivity of the gangs
• Familiarity with material calculation, project program and manpower management
• Arrange material, manpower and equipment
• Plan execution and asphalt laying
• Minimising waste and avoid customer complaints before and after laying
• Suggesting actions to eliminate non-conformance
• Willingness to travel in region to transfer skills and assess technical expertise

Requirements

Qualification:
• Excellent communication skills also with a group of people
• Relevant Asphalt Qualification is essential
• Preferably an Engineering background
• Appropriate SHE Qualification highly desirable

Experience / Achievements:
• Experience of a similar role or environment. At least 10 years operational/supervisory or managerial experience in contracting operations.
• Preferably with Qatar Light Vehicle Driving License

Know-How:
• Knowledge of SHE, QA, product knowledge and technical awareness
• Knowledge of site specific SHE procedures and rules (including basic introduction of Health and Safety policies and procedures manual)
• Knowledge of all relevant job-related rules contained within the Health and Safety policies and procedures manual
• Basic computer skills with knowledge of Microsoft office packages
• Working knowledge of asphalt contracting operations and materials
• Awareness of customer issues
• Managing cost control
