Scope of Position:

The Asset and Inventory Accountant is responsible for recording the cost of newly acquired fixed assets (both tangible and intangible) tracking existing fixed assets, recording depreciation, and accounting for the disposition of fixed assets.

What you will be doing:

- Create and monitor a system of controls, procedures, and forms for recording of fixed assets.
- Assign tag numbers to fixed assets.
- Record fixed asset acquisitions and dispositions in the accounting system.
- Conduct periodic physical counts of fixed assets.
- Conduct monthly stock movement reconciliations and asset distributions by end of each month.
- Report total purchasing cost percentage by end of the month on a monthly basis, make reports for all the purchase items, take inventory, and controls potentials.
- Record on monthly basis , items movements in costs books, to check for proper requisition and inter transfers costing and extensions.
- Contribute to the issues , request and physical inventory control of the Asset and Inventory Accountant (5 employees) by maintaining effective relationships with other departments.
- Track the compilation of project costs into fixed asset accounts, and close out those accounts once the related projects have been completed

Requirements

Your experience and skills include:

- At least 1 year experience in a similar position
- University Degree in Finance/Accounts
- Knowledgeable of MS Office/RFD systems and barcode systems
- Strong interpersonal and problem solving abilities
- Highly responsible & reliable
- Ability to work well under pressure in a fast paced environment
