Job description / Role
CAD Manager (Civil Engineering) - Qatar
Linum Consult’s client is currently seeking a CAD Manager to be involved on a significant highway construction project in Qatar.
RESPONSIBILITIES
• Managing and coordinating the use of computer-aided design software across the project through close liaison and management of the Design Consultants
• Coordinating and reviewing existing network procedures and protocols for the storage of CAD data and designs on shared servers and/or networked hard drives, supported by the IM Department
• Providing technical advice to the Engineering Manager and Construction Manager to assist in the development and recommendation of strategies for CAD user outputs and the company’s CAD interface with other departments and agencies
• Developing, implementing, and maintaining policies, procedures and associated plans for CAD software administration and appropriate use
• Conducting research on new and emerging CAD technologies or technologies that can be leveraged through existing CAD investments
• Setting and administering server storage space allotments, resource reservations, and directory assistance
Requirements
CLIENT STIPULATED REQUIREMENTS
• Degree in a technical subject, with 5 years of post-graduate experience
• Strong history of working on international projects for large consultancies or PMCs
• IT professional and expert user of Information Management systems, tools, hardware and software
• Strong technical knowledge of 2D and 3D CAD production
• Experience of CAD on large civil engineering projects valued at US$ 100m+, preferably in the Middle East
• Excellent communication skills in written and verbal English
