Claims Engineer

Job description / Role

The Claims Engineer works within the Claims team and reports directly to the Claims Manager.

Supports all aspects of contractual claims arising from the Contract as part of the Project Management Consultant’s role in an ethical manner at all times and in accordance with procedures.

Interfaces with other team members in line with the overall requirements for reviewing and assessing Claims.

Executes processes and procedures to anticipate, mitigate and advise on all aspects of contractual claims.

Assists in the preparation of high quality recommendation reports. He uses sound knowledge of Claims Administration applicable to major expressway projects to Claims Administration.

Exercises commercial awareness and uses good communication skills to reduce risk to the Client.

Requirements

Degree in Quantity Surveying from an accredited internationally recognized university and must be qualified and chartered (QS) by a recognized international body such as Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) with minimum 15 years demonstrable experience, of which at least 10 years experience, should be a Claims Engineer in similar nature and size of projects with sound background in various types of Conditions of Contract and proven experience of claims response and Contract resolution.

Must have a strong leadership quality to lead and motivate the team.

Must be fully computer literate and able to utilize computer technology to access data, maintain records, generate reports, etc.

Must be fluent in English both written and spoken with an excellent capability in written technical skills as well as oral and written communication skills.
