Rixos Qetaifan Island North

Opening in 2022, Rixos Doha Qetaifan will comprise a 345-key hotel, along with a souq encompassing 11,000sq m of leasing space, a beach club, a theme park, and a waterpark. The resort will boast panoramic views of the Arabian Gulf. Slated to make its debut right before the World Cup, Rixos plans to provide a platform for showcasing Qatar as a tourism destination. One of the country's biggest draws will be Qetaifan Island North's waterpark attraction The Icon Tower, the world's highest tower of its kind, reaching 82 metres in height.

Commercial Director

This position is responsible for developing a commercial strategy covering all segments and channels to maximize total revenue and profit performance as well as market share penetration of the hotel, waterpark and retail.

What you will be doing:

- Directly accountable for driving the Top line Budget and Forecast by implementing a commercial strategy and business plan through to execution using the Accor Commercial Focus process and all available business tools and intelligence available. Deliver as a minimum the budgeted revenues across all revenue streams, including but not limited; to All Rooms, GC&E, F&B, Leisure, and Spa with a control on cost of sale, route to market, channel shift, and marketing / Ecommerce opportunities.
- Being a Market focus and understanding the local market trend and supporting and guiding the Marketing team across the hotel, waterparks, and retail.
- Observe competition which includes the local market and regional hotel/waterpark and analysis results.
- Work with the MD, Finance, Waterpark GM, and Hotel Manager to ensure profits are maximized in line with TGOP and EBITDA targets set.
- Ensure Business Review Guidelines (current to + 5 years) all Pricing & Rate Quotation Strategies are in place in order to maximize all pricing components of sales and catering opportunities and achieve positive group market share.
- Support various On Property, RDOS's, and Area Marketing teams in coordinating hotel, waterpark, and retail level marketing, sales, and public relations activities. Liaise with regional support and brand teams to provide maximum benefit to hotel and waterpark performance.
- Support the Revenue Managers to establish an optimal mix, review and validate forecasts, develop strategies for different demand periods, and review and approve retail and group pricing strategies.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with all stakeholders, owners, hotel teams, waterpark team, and Accor matrix support teams to ensure commercial benefits of the hotel and waterpark.
- Keeps in touch with Market trends and reviews/amends strategies accordingly in line with the evolving market conditions.
- Participate in the leadership activity of the Hotel/Waterpark and Region.

Requirements

Your experience and skills include:

- Minimum five years of experience as Commercial Director with complex hotel/resort within the Middle East
- Waterpark or Theme Park experience would be preferred.
- Minimum five years of experience presenting sales plans, presentations, etc. to senior-level executives and constituent groups
- At least five years of experience managing a sales or commercial team
- Strong work ethics and corporate governance.
- Strong interpersonal and problem-solving abilities
- Fluent in English and would be an advantage for Arabic speakers.
