Job description / Role
The Commercial Manager will be a senior member of an integrated Team with input in to overall commercial strategy and delivery of our services for the projects/programs that the business is involved in.
The Commercial Manager is responsible for the overall cost and commercial performance of our services across the business projects/programs having good all-round pre-contract and post contract knowledge and experience with strong client facing, client management skills (experience with which is an advantage but not a must have).
Requirements
- Degree Qualified Quantity Surveying
- 10 years experience, ideally MRICS qualified or equivalent
- Flexible to changing requirements
- Ability to work to tight deadlines
- Ability to motivate and impart knowledge
- Commercial awareness in rapidly changing sector
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
- Act as technical advisor to the business
- Keep up to date with industry developments with respect to own discipline, other disciplines and engineering innovations and developments on a global scale
- Knowledge of recognised programme control principles (procurement, earned value management, risk management, contract administration, claims resolution and change control)
- Comprehend, analyse and assess budgets, cost plans, cash flows, consultant applications, and the change/variation process
- Initiate and support the technical capabilities of the team
- Challenge and seek to improve the project deliverables
- Drive innovation and better ways of working
- Pre and Post Contract Cost management Experience
- Experience of Professional Service Agreement(s) is preferred but not essential
