Design Architect

Job description / Role

Main responsibilities: Work with Senior Architect and Project Design Manager to develop high quality engineering solutions detailing procedures, methodologies and guidelines for ensuring effective estimation, design and implementation.

Develop working templates for establishing client requirements, conducting site studies, cost estimations, evaluation and allocation of work to landscape consultant and contractors.

Develop guidelines for executing landscape risk management activities for QPM structures to help onsite teams to deliver high quality landscape designs ensuring compliance with regulatory and HSE standards.

Implement standardized landscape and finishing methodologies and procedures on deployed sites to ensure consistent and high quality ‘QPM work experience’ to consultants, contractors and clients across sites.

Ensure appropriate usage and application of the Project Management System (PMS) with respect to entry and analysis of work related data for day to day functioning to facilitate seamless communication of all relevant (technical/non-technical) information across the organization on a real time basis for maximum effectiveness.

Synergize with the project commissioning team to ensure that all projects are meticulously commissioned to deliver world class standards of quality to QPM clients

Oversee all onsite landscape design and finishing operations.

Advise and monitor onsite engineers on landscape engineering, plans, designs, layouts in alignment with project specifications and project cost estimates.

Work with Project Design Manager to resolve landscape issues at project sites site.

Serve as the onsite resource for all matters related to landscape, finishing and design quality by reviewing blueprints, drawings and providing feedback and sketches to respond to design errors which may be further developed and incorporated in drawings by Designers/Drafters.

Monitor and supervise Designers/Drafters/consultant activities for conformance with the provisions of construction master-plans and specifications.

Achieve a detailed understanding of the Contract documents (drawings and specifications), coordinate work with other disciplines such as mechanical, civil, electrical etc and advise project managers on execution of architecture design and finish.

Facilitate on site problem solving for concerns raised by site contractors, construction engineers and clients during construction.

Assist in the scope review, budgeting and justification of change work order, designs and drawings submittals at project site as and propose appropriate solution from the landscape perspective.

Attend and participate in on site Client and QPM meetings to direct and control the activities of onsite teams and subcontractors based on feedback and outcomes.

Assist in on site negotiations with contractors regarding project overview, project status, value of claims or changes in designs and drawings and prepare recommendations on claims

Requirements

Graduate in Landscape Architecture / BS Architecture with 8 years experience in construction industry, with at least 2-3 years in a similar role in a medium to large Project Management company.

Total experience of 15-20 years.
