Established in 2001 as a partnership between Cornell University and Qatar Foundation, WCM-Q is part of Weill Cornell Medicine in New York and shares its mission of dedication to excellence in education, patient care and research.

The first medical school in Qatar and a pioneer of coeducation at university level, WCM-Q offers an integrated program of pre-medical and medical studies leading to the Cornell University M.D. degree. Teaching is by Cornell and Weill Cornell faculty, including physicians at Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC) who hold Weill Cornell appointments.

WCM-Q is in its 15th year of operation and is seeking a candidate for Director, Research Integrity.

Reporting to the Associate Dean for Research, the Director is responsible for strategic direction, oversight and operational management of the WCM-Q Office of Research Integrity to ensure a high level of responsiveness to the needs of the research community while ensuring that WCM-Q meets its ethical and regulatory obligations as they relate to animal subject protection and conflicts of interest.

Having in-depth knowledge of the regulations governing animal research, the incumbent will be responsible for assuring regulatory compliance of the animal subject protection program with Federal, Institutional and Qatari policies, procedures and regulations, acts as a Conflicts Liaison Officer (CLO) responsible for implementation of policies and procedures related to conflicts of interest and commitment on the Qatar campus, and serve as a liaison to the WCM-NY COI Office., supports the institutional Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) office in overseeing the Occupational Health and Safety Program & Develops and maintains research education program.

Requirements

The successful candidate is required to have a Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of seven years progressive experience in the oversight of research conduct including at least one year of managerial experience. She/he should have demonstrated comprehensive working knowledge of animal subject protection regulations and ethical standards & advanced organizational, administrative and interpersonal skills.

Compensation will include a competitive salary with supplement for Foreign Service, housing and transportation.
