Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

• This position shall provide support to the engineering manager for delivery of the Project(s)
• Maintain DO&M equipment, systems and components as required to ensure continuous and smooth operation of the business and prevent emergency shutdowns
• Undertake mechanical, electrical and/or instrumentation preventative and corrective maintenance and repair as instructed by the Supervisor
• Carry out inspections on equipment, systems and components, identify root cause of fault and recommend action required Identify parts and materials needed required and advise O&M
• Attend emergency breakdowns and take appropriate action as instructed/required
• Ensure that place of work and tools are kept clean, neat and tidy
• Ensure adherence to Health and Safety Policy and Procedures and comply with any new work instructions
• Draft, review or recommend any engineering related documents as required
• Provide progress reports as and when required
• Attendance at relevant meetings
• Ensure and review engineering compliance related to Projects
• Manage and review performance of various consultants and contractors in terms of design
• Review and recommend upon various designs throughout the lifetime of a project
• Apply international design standards across various projects
• Experience of technical reviews
• Experienced and technically excellent in design coordination
• Experience of technical design software

Requirements

• Bachelor degree from a recognized university in an appropriate field such as Engineering or Architecture or equivalent. Master’s degree in a relevant field is an advantage.
• Minimum of 8 years post graduate experience with experience in major infrastructure projects or programmes; preference will be given to roads, aviation, structures or rail related experience.
• Minimum of 4 years’ relevant experience in mechanical, electrical and/or instrumentation repair and maintenance (ideally familiar with expressways, roads, pumping stations, wastewater, treatment plants)
• Relevant Professional membership
• Ability to read, understand, interpret and apply Computer Aided Design (CAD) and other technical drawings in area of specialism
• Demonstrable track record in the delivery of large multidisciplinary projects
• Holder of relevant recognized trade certificate (e.g. mechanic, electrician)
• Technically proficient in all aspects of engineering both pre and post contract
• Excellent communication skills in English, written and spoken
• Driver’s License
• Arabic language skills is preferred
