Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

The English Editing Senior Officer position requires a dedicated team member with amazing attention to detail. He or she will be responsible for editing (and, in some cases, writing) content for a wide variety of audiences in support of the SC’s marketing initiatives and to further our communications goals.

Key responsibilities
- Edit content for marketing materials, publications, internal communications and social media to ensure it is well written, complies with brand language guidelines and is logically structured
- Provide guidance and support to all departments to maximise the impact of all written communications
- Ensure the SC’s English style guide is regularly updated and adhered to in all SC communications
- Use content management systems to upload content onto our digital publishing platforms and perform quality assurance on all content once uploaded
- Cooperate with colleagues to develop, communicate and pitch campaigns, including strategy, goals, budget and calendar
- When possible, participate in the creation of innovative and creative copy in support of marketing initiatives across platforms and on the SC’s website
- Assist in the text design of presentations, brochures and other marketing collaterals
- Other responsibilities as directed
- Perform any other duties assigned by the supervisor directly related or relevant to the job
- Ensure the assigned responsibilities are delivered:
- To a high standard of quality and timeliness
- In full compliance with the SC Quality Policy and the Safety and Security rules and requirements
- In line with any standards and objectives designated in the Employee Performance Management system

Requirements

- Bachelor’s Degree
- 3+ years as a proofreader or copy editor
- Stunning attention to detail
- Stickler for proper spelling and grammar
- Ability to maintain quality standards while meeting tight deadlines
- Experience copy editing or proofreading for the sports or infrastructure industries, or an interest therein, will be highly valued
- Experience working cross-functionally and comfort interacting with other employees at all levels
- Comfort working in highly diverse, multi-lingual environments
- Experience on teams creating campaigns and using multiple platforms to build awareness, engage and excite new and existing supporters
- Candidates with experience in the Arab world and/or a working knowledge of Arabic are
- Encouraged to apply, as are those who have worked in other environments where translation and/or localisation of content was required
- Familiarity with the use of content management systems and the ability to upload and format text and images online
- Excellent communication, presentation and relationship-building skills
