Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

Principal Accountability & Responsibility:
Report to the Consortium Technical Manager and to the Project Director (LRT I).
He/she has the following responsibilities related to work packages development design during 2C2/2C3 phases:

General coordination

- Manage a team of coordination engineers and coordination draughtsmen

- Prepare all project external interfaces with third parties (utilities, roads, sub-developers, right of way,)

- Assist in the preparation of all technical documents required for permitting process

- Manage the project input data procedure and register

- Manage the lead designer to update the LRT alignment further to context planning integration and highways design developments

- Liaise with all QDVC project departments, design teams, construction teams, to identify, evaluate and mitigate all the potential clashes that would impact the scope, the time schedule, or the price of the works.

- Plans and conducts internal projects review meetings, prepare project presentations and assist in the project management meetings

- Conducts Engineering meeting and approves the minutes,

- Approves requests related to management of project definition (RFI clarification, Design change)

- Establishes the detailed time schedule of his work package,

- Follow-up and report, the progress of his work package,

- Keeps an up-to-date library of standards and regulations applicable to the package,

- Assist the CSD Manager in all the preparation of the inter-station GD packages,

- Ensures that the design development is in line with all the latest needed input data.

- Liaise with the Employer and Consortium Partners in various contractual subjects.

Interfaces and coordination with Third Parties

- Lusail (various designers for public utilities, roads and developments)

- Lusail Express Way project

- Kahramaa Authority (Water & Electricity)

- Ooredoo, Vodafone (Radio, telephone)

- Civil Defense

- Ministry of Interior

- Ministry of Municipalities and Urban Planning

- Supreme Committee of Delivery and Legacy (Qatar 2022)

Interface between Civil Works (inclusive of MEP & Archi) and Rail Systems

- Coordination of interfaces with Systems for agreement between Partners & Subcontractors,

- In liaison with IMAC Technical Department and the IMAC Senior Planner establishment of the interface schedule and follow-up

System Assurance

- For his/her scope of works reviews and provides IMAC Technical Department with information dealing with:

- Requirements management
- Interface management
- RAMS
- Configuration management

Resources

- Manage the lead designer and the various partners
- Defines his personnel and equipment needs
- Participates to the recruitment of his technical personnel,
- Manages his project technical team

Purchasing
- Manages interfaces between his package and others (Employer and/or project members and/or external stakeholder, etc.),

- Reviews and approves, for the part which concerns his work packages, the deliverables,

Employer

- Major point of contact with the Employer,
- Major point of contract with Lusail and all its senior management
- Passes as "For execution" the technical document, of her work packaged, signed with "Accepted – OK to proceed” or Accepted – OK to proceed as noted" by the Employer,

Site

- Takes part to the “ Staff Involvement on Safety” workshop
- Have a clear picture on all the advancement of the works all over the project
- Ensure his technical team is involved regularly in site activities
- Reviews the Non Conformity files which are submitted to him by the Works Manager,

Requirements

Education and Experience:

- Bachelor or Master in Mechanical or Civil Engineering
- Previous experience on Railway projects and Mega Infrastructure projects

Key Skills and Knowledge:
- Good knowledge of infrastructure designs and alignments integration
- Good Knowledge in various mechanical, rail systems and civil works interfaces
- Ability in coordination and interface management
- Excellent communication skills and proactive attitude
- Problem solving character
- Decision maker
- Team player
- Team Leader
