Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

Key Job Accountabilities - I
• Manage successful corporate personal safety systems to ensure Qatargas provides a safe workplace for its employees and contractors and support safe and reliable Operations across QG North.
• Support development of corporate safety policies across all QG and their implementation across QG North facilities.
• Ensure quality formal investigations into serious safety incidents to identify root causes and actions to prevent their reoccurrence.
• Manage safety performance during planned and unplanned shutdowns, ensuring all contractor implement an approved HSE plans that align with Company standards to a achieve incident and injury (IIF) free shutdowns.
• Support internal and external audit processes and participate in formalizing of action plans, ensure implementation of agreed improvement action plans.

Key Job Accountabilities - II
• Perform as Subject Matter Expert (SME) for Personal Safety related matters for QG North.
• Manage HSE inspection programs for across QG1, QG2, QG3&4, Laffan Refinery 1 & Laffan Refinery 2, RLTO, CLNG, Off Site facilities and QG North Non Plant Assets.
• Manage the training, developmental and succession plans for all assigned Employees, consistent with company’s staff retention and nationalisation policies to ensure that the Safety function has sustainable capability and capacity to meet Qatargas’ short, medium and longer term needs.
• Review and improve Company safety systems and processes to ensure Lessons Learned, update legislative requirements new international and standards and best practices are embedded and implemented.
• Participate in Emergency Response, Crisis Management / Business continuity responses as per the requirements of relevant QG procedures.
• Ensure availability and fit for purpose condition of assigned safety equipment across QG North.

Requirements

Job Purpose
• Achieve an Incident and Injury Free (IIF) workplace, protect Company Onshore assets and maintain high standards of safety through continuous improvement of comprehensive Safety Management Systems across QG North South Facilities.

Job Context & Major Challenge(s)
• Role is a key position that can have a significant impact on Operations Integrity and Personal Safety through individual decision-making, operational control or individual actions. Job holder (1) manages activities of assigned team across QG North, (2) implements approved Safety Objectives across assigned site, (3) participates in the decision making during the company turnaround SD steering committees, PTW steering committee and other platforms, (4) develops Solutions emerging safety issues using initiative, standard procedures, best practices and personal expertise and knowledge.

Qualifications
• Bachelor is Degree in Engineering / Science or equivalent.
• Knowledge and/or Experience 12 years’ of technical experience related to the oil and gas or chemical manufacturing industries, developing knowledge of both onshore and offshore safety, of which 3 years’ are in supervisory roles.
