Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

Key Accountabilities:
- Managers/directors and field staff to fulfil their health, safety, environmental and our responsibilities
- Direct management of the HSE teams within each designated country and the services they deliver
- Promote and be a role model in the application of our Health, Safety and Environment Policies to ensure we provide a safe, healthy working environment for employees, stakeholders, customers and the general public
- Ensuring alignment to the ARCADIS Health & Safety Vision and Policies
- Ensure compliance to current legal Health and Safety requirements

Responsibilities:
- Ensure appropriate timely escalation, investigation and reporting of all staff and contractor incidents including identification of immediate, underlying and root causes with actions to prevent recurrence.
- Build, develop, and grow relationships vital to the success of corporate and service delivery solutions
- Support the Corporate HS function in delivery of strategic objectives and targets
- Coach, mentor, motivate, be a role model to team members influencing positive actions and accountability
- Ensure that appropriate techniques, process, procedures and compliance requirements are developed to ensure we deliver exemplar performance and a consistent approach (within defined scope) is maintained to our delivery solutions and the service delivery tools we use
- Monitoring utilisation, timesheets, service delivery management plans, service delivery reviews and associated administration tasks
- Maintain appropriate communications within the wider team community for resolutions, guidance and advice
- Aspire to deliver the best solutions, staying appraised of legislative and other requirements
- Assessment, control and management of HSE contractual and commercial risk
- Be an active part of initiatives that enhance the reputational and performance aspects of the business
- Collaborating with all of our people and stakeholders to minimise harm whilst ensuring and enabling the delivery of the business activities and strategy.
- Liaising with regulatory bodies as required

Requirements

- Preferred Bachelor’s degree level qualification or NEBOSH Diploma
- No less than 10 years relevant health and safety experience
- Experience of developing and delivering HSE services (internationally is an advantage)
- Demonstrable record of high performance / delivery
- The ability to contribute the broader regional policy development
- Ability to build consensus, provide direction and be a team player
- Proven track record of success and ability to work autonomously
- Assertive personality with ability to persuade and influence senior stakeholders
- Excellent communication skills – high quality written and oral communication.
- Personal - professional, organised, reliable, flexible, personable, enthusiastic, with a positive attitude to work
