Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

- Keep up-to-date with recommended codes of practice and safety literature.
- Create safety awareness by promoting safety meetings, presentations, open forum discussions and by implementing safety training
- Continually maintain an appropriate level of awareness, knowledge and preparedness across the organization to create a culture that prioritizes effective HSE and balances overall associated costs
- Chair HSE committee meetings
- Auditing and inspection of Contractor’s work
- Provide regular written reports and updates to the Senior Management Team
- Liaise with departments and clients in controlling the permit to work system.
- Keep a permanent record of all injuries, fires, motor vehicle accidents, property damage and crane/heavy equipment accidents which have occurred
- Review and approve the Risk assessment.
- To take an active role in construction & operation HSE management and ensure compliance with safety, health and environmental regulations and keep the evaluation register up to date.
- Undertake daily safety inspection and recommend necessary corrective actions
- Carry out accident investigation, confirm root cause and propose recommendations for improvement.
- Responsible in maintaining a register for all the accidents and near misses that happen during the Project, publicize these statistics and update in a daily manner.
- Prepare Weekly Report in brief dashboard format of all environmental audits / inspections.
- Undertake planned & random safety audits and recommend improvements
- Develop HSE manual and plans.
- Attend relevant safety meetings.
- Conduct Safety induction and awareness training
- Track and monitor close out of safety violations
- Monitor the implementation of QM HSE Programs
- Monitor HSE performance of internal department and Contractors
- Training of QM Staff on HSE matters.

Requirements

- Presently residing in Qatar.
- Good Knowledge in HSE Management system
- Knowledge in emergency manage plan preparation and implementation
- Knowledge in preparation safety poster and bulletins
- Ability to prepare and undertake technical presentations.
- Skills: Computer literate; problem solving skills; people skills; able to work unsupervised; able to work as a team; must be able to speak and write English, able to prioritize work; good report writing skills; good communication skills.
- Internal Communication: Supervising & Management Consultants, Contractor PM, CM, & HSE, Developer Contractors,
- External communication: Consultants, Suppliers, Manufacturers, Government bodies, Ministries, Training Bodies, Suppliers
- Good knowledge in assessment of hazard and risk in all Facility activity
- Good knowledge in assessment of environmental aspect and impact in all facility activity.
- Training certificate on any of these: NVQ Level 5 or 6, NEBOSH IGC/ IFC, IIRSM
- Knowledge of ISO and NFPA standards.
- Knowledge in OSHAS 18001 and ISO 14001
- Training in First Aid and CPR, Emergency response and fire fighting.
- Other HSE related trainings – PTW / H2S / working at height
- Minimum of 6 years’ experience in HSE in FM or construction
- Preferably with 3 years related work experience in GCC
- Experience in infrastructure projects, high rise building, mixed use buildings.
