Job description / Role
1- Work location: Doha with regular visit to offshore and project sites.
2- Job holder is responsible to ensure the Environmental Performance of NOC projects and act as focal point
for Environment related queries and deliverables. In addition to the environmental responsibilities, this
position requires an active participation in emergency response team.
3- The job dimension includes.
- Number of staff under direct supervision: 1-2
- Indirect Reports: field staff undertaking environment related activities, contractors performing environmental activities on sites
- Allocated annual budget: delegated by ENV Manager
- Job boundaries: All entities of NOC
- Transverse Functional coordination - Peer engineers in: Field Operations, HSEQ entities, Drilling, Engineering and Construction, Major Projects, Logistics and Planning and Development
- High exposure to the local authorities (MOECC) and offshore operation team and reporting to TE (Enablon Planet team).
Requirements
- Minimum 10 years professional experience in an environment compliance team in an operational setting (preferably 10 to 15 years hands on experience in oil and gas industry projects).
- Thorough knowledge and understanding of local environmental legislation.
- Strong understanding of ISO 14001 EMS, preferably with experience of system auditing and implementation
- Good understanding of International best practices and standards e.g. IFC, IPIECA
- Demonstrated ability to develop long range goals, strategies and plans and ultimately implement such plans to successful completion.
