Job description / Role
• Preparing designs, reports and cost estimates for ITS projects, keeping up to date in technology.
• Evaluating engineering problems and supporting senior staff, as necessary, to develop cost effective and robust solutions.
• Liaising with other technical disciplines.
• Allocating work to CAD operator, checking, monitoring and ensuring tasks are completed to schedule and costs.
Requirements
• BE/BS/ME/MS degree in Civil, Transportation or Electrical Engineering (or related field) 5+ years of related work experience with at least 2 years’ experience as ITS Engineer.
Skills Competencies:
• Knowledge of ITS technologies and devices which includes ITS field infrastructure, transportation management centers and communications.
• High degree of proficiency in utilizing technical knowledge to effectively resolve complex system engineering problems in accordance with standards.
• Effective verbal communication – speaking and listening skills – with both technical and non-technical people.
• Effective written communication – able to structure sentences and paragraphs and correctly apply grammar and punctuation.
• Ability to effectively communicate with team members, managers and clients.
• Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite of tools.
