Interior Designer

Job description / Role

Ensuring high quality planning and designing of building architecture, interior design, integrating aesthetic design and finish with best in class with heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC), plumbing, fire protection, electrical, lighting, transportation, and structural systems and overseeing site work related to architectural design for a wide variety of projects across multiple locations to support QPMs vision of becoming a world class company.

• Work with Project Directors and Managers and Program Manager to establish high quality Interior Design practices detailing procedures, methodologies and guidelines for ensuring effective estimation, design and implementation.
• Assist in developing working templates for establishing client requirements, conducting site studies, cost estimations, tendering, evaluation and allocation of work to architectural consultant and contractors.
• Assist in developing guidelines for performing risk management for sites to help onsite teams to deliver high quality solutions ensuring regulatory and HSE compliance with standards.
• Assist in implementing standardized Interior Design methodologies and procedures to ensure consistent and high quality ‘QPM work experience’ to consultants, contractors and clients across sites.
• Ensure appropriate usage and application of the Project Management System with respect to entry and analysis of work related data for day to day functioning to facilitate seamless communication of all relevant (technical/non-technical) information across the organization on a real time basis for maximum effectiveness.
• Synergize with the project commissioning team to ensure that all projects are meticulously commissioned to deliver world class standards of quality to QPM clients
• Support business development by providing inputs and sketches during proposal preparation and client presentations
• Assist in development of RFPs/Tenders by QPM as part of the procurement process
• Coordinate with Project Managers, Construction Managers (onsite) to collate and analyze Interior Design standards and drive remedial actions.
• Interface with clients in relation to QPM’s Interior Design activities
• Oversee and advise on the estimates and analyze periodic reports to monitor project performance against architectural and finishing designs
• Coordinate with QA and HSE teams to ensure compliance Interior Design activities with all Quality and HSE requirements
• Collaborate with other design disciplines to enhance QPM’s overall solution.
• Establish and develop professional relationships with peer professionals in the industry to track industry practices and innovation.
• Meet clients to obtain feedback on QPM’s designs, plans and finishing and use the same to make appropriate modifications.
• Maintain awareness of industry trends, methodologies, tools and best practices in Interior Design.
• Adopt and adapt good practices from the industry into QPM to ensure continuous rejuvenation and upgrades to QPM’s engineering capabilities.

Requirements

• Graduate in Interior Design or equivalent with 12 years in construction industry, with at least 5 years experience related to FF&E on High Rise towers / Luxury Hotels
• Using computer-assisted engineering and design software and equipment to prepare engineering design documents
• Assessing design risks
• Perform field activities to observe and record existing field conditions, take and verify measurements within project area to develop designs and drawings
• Cost management and control techniques and tools (value engineering)
