Together We deployed the first-ever nationwide ticketing system which processes over 50 million ticketing transactions in 100 cities daily.

We have been present in Qatar for over 35 years and with over 350 employees to date and we are growing rapidly. Thales in Qatar is part of our Middle East business that has 1,800 people across Egypt, Iraq, Kuwait, KSA, Lebanon, Oman, Pakistan, Qatar and UAE. Our people are working on two major urban rail projects; the Doha Metro and Lusail Tramway and providing security and communications systems for Hamad International Airport and Doha Port as well as delivering world-class In-Flight entertainment and Connectiivity systems.

We are currently looking for an IT Technical Lead Engineer to join the Thales team in Qatar.

Role & Responsibilities:

- Mainly responsible for IT deployment and maintenance
- Manage the team to provide level 1 & 2 support and provide level 3 escalation supports.
- Plan, organize & control IT data operations on site
- Responsible for deployment, operation/run, maintenance and update/extension of IT systems supporting business activities, in close collaboration and coordination with all teams (Software, Network, etc.)
- Manage the interface / support with Engineering, Project & Bid teams and report to the deployment and project managers.
- Respond to and resolve end users requests
- Collaborate with the customer and maintain a high level of confidence
- Manage the configuration of IT solution and interfaces with others subsystems (DNS configuration (with about 30,000 entries), applications hosted, network, etc.)
- Accountable for the availability, planning and maintenance of all Infrastructure

Requirements

Desired Experience & Skills:

- Minimum of 7+ years' experience in similar field
- Advance knowledge of IT industrial infrastructure administration and Networking
- Server management
- Able to understand the functional architecture of a complex supervisory system and its subsystems
- Knowledge of customer service principles and practices
- Experience dealing directly with customer and partners in a service or support role;
- Management experience to be able to plan IT activities and to fulfil the commitments on IT deployment / configuration management, even in a difficult context (people not IT skilled with lot of pressure)
- Experience in operating systems: Linux (CentOS) / Windows (architecture, scripting, and administration).
- Experience in Virtualization (VMware concepts; installation; administration; scripting)
- Key competencies include decision-making, planning and organizing, problem analysis and problem solving, coaching, teamwork and adaptability
- Excellent communication skills in English language

Education Qualification:

- BSc/BEng in Information Technology/Telecommunication/Computer Science.
- Chartered Project Manager from recognized professional body (preferred).
