Lead Hygiene Officer - Commercial - Qatar Airways - Doha

The Lead Hygiene Officer would direct professional Hygienists completing or overseeing a variety of investigative, inspection, and consultative assignments to prevent occupational diseases and protect and improve the health, work and living environment (staff accommodation).

Operational
- The role is expected to prepare policies and procedures to ensure that Hygiene levels are maintained with the highest degree of quality as per Qatar Airways standards.
- Responsible for planning, organizing, and developing of the overall operation of the housekeeping of Qatar Airways Properties.
- The role would be actively involved in preparation of Contracts, review existing contracts, etc. High level of operational understanding and preparation of Scope of work (SOW) would be a critical element of the job.
- Coordinates activities by scheduling work assignments, setting priorities, and directing the work of subordinate employees.
- Evaluates and verifies employee performance through the review of completed work assignments and work techniques.
- Identifies staff development and ensure proper training is conducted.
- Ensures proper labour relations and conditions of employment are maintained.
- Maintains records, prepares reports, and composes correspondence relative to the work.
- Reviews reports covering findings, propose corrective measures, and compliance with health rules and standards.
- Interprets rules and regulations to senior management and provide valuable opinion.
- Develops regulations, rules and manuals governing the use of; regulate the disposal, procurement, storage, transportation, of contaminants.
- Directs special assignments concerned with occupational health hazards, including health emergencies and special investigations.
- Determines Hygiene program needs and undertake measures for program execution & completion.
- Ensure and conduct random hygiene checks and pre-event inspections of all rooms
- To prepare schedule for general Hygiene inspection to ensure that the apartments are in good condition as per Qatar Airways standards.
- Actively participate in contract preparation for all Hygiene related contracts. This includes but not limited to preparation of scope of work, sending out purchase enquiry, raising RFQ/RFT, complete technical issuance, set up of Technical evaluation criteria, contract preparation, etc
- Directs and participates in studies of health & hygiene. Ensure all workers are briefed about health and safety whilst ensuring hygiene related operations are carried out.
- Participates in educational programs to bring about the acceptance of corrective measures
- Recruit, schedule and train all new housekeeping staff members.
- Responsible to ensure Service Provider complies with contractual agreements.
- Implement Quality Control System through daily inspections schedules and unplanned checks

Requirements

You should hold Bachelor Degree or equivalent with minimum 5 years of job-related experience. A Degree/Diploma/Certificate in Hotel Management or Housekeeping will be preferred along with the experience in Hotel or Hospitality industry. Basic knowledge of MS Excel, Word and Outlook is essential.

We are looking for someone who has thorough knowledge of the principles and practices of hygiene, training and supervisory techniques and employee policies and procedures. You should have experience in managing a team of housekeeping employees through motivation, coaching and development. You should have working knowledge of rooms’ management systems and an advanced knowledge of Housekeeping process and procedures. Ability to prepare technical reports is also essential for this role.
