Employment: Full Time

Our client is a major Facilities Management Service Provider with an excellent reputation in the Middle East markets. Due to continued expansion, our client is looking to recruit a LEED Specialist & Energy Coordinator to join its team based in Doha, Qatar.

The LEED Specialist & Energy Coordinator role is responsible for making recommendations to the Technical and Operations Manager on changes to be implemented that would reduce each building’s carbon footprint and associated utilities costs in keeping with the contract/client’s energy strategies

Responsibilities will include:
- Gathering utility data, analyze consumption, and investigate variances for cause as they apply to the properties.
- Collection and evaluation of utility consumption data, including the accuracy of invoicing
- Prepare reports for the Facility Managers highlighting areas requiring attention
- Audit the facilities to identify cost effective energy saving opportunities
- Prepare detailed annual utilities budgets and monitor for variances
- Support the Facility Managers in developing and evaluating Energy related project proposals
- Support the Project and Commissioning Managers during delivery of energy related projects
- Produce measurable cost avoidance and reduction within the facilities being managed
- Implement energy reduction plans and monitor its effectiveness
- Ensure that all services and supplies comply with LEED Specifications
- Perform Environmental Audits and spot checks and report on compliance
- Overseeing entire LEED certification documentation process
- Identify appropriate and effective sustainable design and/ or LEED strategies
- Coordinate with / support various internal and external team members, including energy modelers, MEP, civil engineers, general contractor, etc
- Effectively communicate environmental certification program requirements and progress to project teams
- Adhere with all the company and the client HSE policies and procedures.

Requirements

- Post-secondary education in environmental engineering or equivalent.
- University or college degree from an accredited university or college
- Must attend ongoing training as and when required
- 3 years’ experience in managing energy reduction programs
- 3 to 5 years’ experience in LEED certified facilities
- Knowledge of building automation systems and remote metering
- Computer literate including excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access.
- LEED AP credentials
- Able to communicate effectively.
- Ability to work calmly when under pressure.
- A proven team player with strong solutions orientation and people management skills.
- A person with very good facilitation and influencing skills
- Calm under pressure, confident and outgoing and self-motivated
- A very high level of tact and diplomacy and customer service.
