Manager Organisational Design - Qatar Airways - Doha

You will be responsible to manage the Job Evaluation function for the whole of Qatar Airways Group including outstations. Provide advice and guidance to the line managers on the construction of meaningful job descriptions that support their respective businesses, flagging gaps a/o overlaps with similar roles in other parts of the organisation. Provides organisational design expertise to the business leaders and to the HR team, to create an organisation structure and operating model that will allow the organization to deliver on its long-term vision.

You will also oversee and ensure that internal equity is maintained across QR Group-wide job evaluations through sound and consistent application of Job Evaluation (JE) framework, standards, processes and tools including in-depth analysis / assessment of job context and content and sound rationale and internal comparisons for all job evaluation submissions.

Lead and review the designing of the job matrix of all jobs in the organization, ensuring that the internal equity is reached. Manage the team to deliver timely evaluations for executive and non-executive jobs across QR Group, utilizing internal and external references ensuring thorough understanding of business context, structures, job mandates and accountabilities. Maintain awareness of JE industry developments and the aviation, retail, and other sectors relevant to the QR Group environment for organizational & role-related trends for comparative purposes.

Moreover, you will be accountable for the optimal and consistent use of HAY Methodology. Ensures that all team members have a complete understanding and are applying the methodology based on the established guidelines and rules. Develop mechanisms to measure the effectiveness of the function, and monitor the application of JE policies, principles, processes and tools to ensure operational efficiency, reliable and consistent job evaluation outcomes across the enterprise, and alignment with other core Human Resources processes.

Support pay equity and internal equity requirements by maintaining and monitoring job evaluation process and standards. Act as escalation point in the investigation of job evaluation requests from the line in order to find out the rational for evaluation avoiding non required upgrades of roles and development on new unnecessary ones. Provide advice and guidance to the line Managers on the use of job descriptions and its use as a tool for performance appraisal and training.

In addition, you will be responsible to facilitate discussions with line management and HR business support team in creating optimal organizational design.

Develop Organisational Design approach that treats the Group as a system and ensures its operating model supports the business strategy – people, processes, systems, culture. Develops strategic organization design frameworks and principles which align to company’s strategy.

Collaborate with Manpower planning Team in order to set the framework and approach to proactively measure and manage workforce strategy and effectiveness. Provide strategic support to the business to design the organization structure, roles and responsibilities including the definition of the future capability and providing expert advice in creating best-in-class structures based on functional processes.

Manage implementation and support organisation design processes in partnership with line management and HR leadership. Design and maintains the rules for the organizational structure creation.

Keep abreast of market trends and good practice with regards to Organisational Design. Provide tactical organization design solutions to business areas as needed.

Requirements

To be Successful in this role you need to hold a Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in Human Resources field., preferably in Business, HR, Psychology, Organizational Behavior. You will also have a minimum of 7 years of job-related experience. You will also need to have an understanding the implication of corporate change (strategic change) on organizational design in terms of staffing needs, business systems, rewards etc. Good knowledge of state-of-the-art organisation development and design, methodologies and tools.

As for your evaluation skills. you will have the ability to critically examine content and ascertain materials essential to effective learning and knowledge retention. Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills. Ability to communicate with the senior management level is also needed. Moreover, Excellent Analytical, Project Management and Presentation skills is essential.

And, Good understanding of the various industries/sectors, the fundamental business principles and business drivers. Managerial skills - Ability to delegate work, set clear direction and manage workflow. Strong mentoring and coaching skills. Ability to train and develop subordinate's skills. Ability to foster teamwork among team members.
