Job Description

Position Purpose :

The QHSE Specialist will be responsible for implementing and maintaining quality, health, safety, and environmental programs to ensure compliance with regulations and industry standards. This role requires a strong understanding of QHSE principles, excellent communication skills, and the ability to drive continuous improvement in these critical areas.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

- Develop, implement, and maintain QHSE programs and policies to ensure compliance with relevant regulations and industry standards.
- Conduct regular audits and inspections to identify potential QHSE risks and non-conformities, and develop strategies for mitigation and improvement.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to promote a culture of quality, safety, and environmental responsibility throughout the organization.
- Investigate incidents, accidents, and near-misses, and develop corrective and preventive actions to minimize future occurrences.
- Analyze QHSE data and metrics to identify trends, areas for improvement, and opportunities for enhancing performance.
- Provide training and guidance to employees on QHSE policies, procedures, and best practices\
- Act as a liaison with regulatory agencies, customers, and other stakeholders on QHSE matters.

SUPPORTIVE FUNCTIONS:

In addition to performance of the essential functions, this position may be required to perform a combination of the following supportive functions, with the percentage of time performing each function to be solely determined by the supervisor based upon the particular requirements of the hotel.

- Snagging and de-snagging.
- Supporting other department team member in case something is needed related to plumbing works.
- Ensures the application and the execution of a good preventive maintenance program for related equipment and machineries.

Requirements

Qualifications

REQUIREMENTS:

- Proven experience in a QHSE role, preferably in a related industry or environment.
- In-depth knowledge of quality management systems, health and safety regulations, and environmental standards.
- Strong understanding of risk assessment methodologies and incident investigation techniques.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Relevant certifications or qualifications in QHSE, quality management, safety, or environmental management.
- Experience with ISO standards (e.g., ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001).
- Familiarity with process improvement methodologies such as Six Sigma or Lean.

QUALIFICATION STANDARDS EDUCATION:

- Any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from high school or any other combination of education, training or experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to perform the duties of the position.

EXPERIENCE:

- Basic experience in maintenance trades, including electrical, plumbing, and mechanical's certification is required and/or First Aid Training preferred.
