Employment: Full Time

Reporting to the Project Manager, the Pavement Manager will be responsible for supervising the quality of pavement works. This position liaises between the Project Manager & the Project Designer regarding pavement design and pavement solution. This position will also assist the Quality Manager in order to ensure the Asphalt, Production, Paving, FDR and other pavement structure related operations are done per the specifications and/or address them adequately.

Key Responsibilities:
- Supervision of asphalt pavement construction under extreme climatic and geological conditions;
- Monitors site works on an ongoing basis to ensure accurate testing;
- Review and advise Engineer of any modifications needed to the detailed road designs;
- Propose cost effective and innovative to the problems in road/pavement construction and maintenance projects;
- Design all pavements to be used by; gathering data required for the design of pavements, conduct structural analysis, perform an economic analysis of various pavement options;
- Carry out visual pavement inspections;
- Provide site specific recommendations for site investigations and testing;
- Communicate with, and attend project progress meetings with clients;
- Prepare risk assessments;
- Convert preliminary designs into detailed designs fit for implementation;
- Responsible for the technical development of staff members in pavement related layers;
- Review quality of work on all ongoing works;
- Determine the deterioration of pavement and make recommendations on subsequent treatments;
- Ensure compliance with standards and specifications for pavement design and workmanship;
- Use specialized software for the structural design of pavement layers;
- Assist in conducting technical audits of road projects.

Requirements

- Bachelor’s Degree in Pavement or Highway Engineering, Civil Engineering, or Geotechnical engineering or related Engineering field.
- Minimum 10 years with Asphalt Pavement/Concrete or Asphalt Construction Industry experience.
- Design and research background with pavement materials.
- Familiarity with specification for highway works and contract document preparation.
- Outstanding managerial skills and ability to manage asphalt crew and asphalt equipment’s.
