Planning Engineer (Bim Coordinator/Engineer (Infrastructure / Buildings)
• BIM Coordinator assists the BIM Specialist in coordination and execution of BIM projects.
• He coordinates data sets / workflows within the project setup and communicates effectively and offers cross-team support.
• Setup linked models and coordinate models across disciplines.
• Assist the BIM Specialist in the BIM delivery for Ashghal Project(s) within the Department
• Manage key stakeholder interfaces to ensure successful delivery of various outcomes across the Project(s) and Programme.
• Coordinate BIM Technicians for a project within the Department.
• Establish project controls and reporting and ensure timely delivery of Project(s) to time, cost, and quality.

Requirements

Skills and Competencies:
• In-depth knowledge of BIM procedures with good understanding of integration from/to BIM with other applications.
• A BIM coordinator should have a solid understanding of BIM concepts, workflows, and software tools commonly used in the industry, such as Revit, Civil 3D, Navisworks and Infraworks.
• Proficiency in BIM software is crucial for model coordination, clash detection, and
• generating reports. The coordinator should be able to effectively use these tools to identify and resolve clashes and conflict within the models.
• BIM coordinator encounter technical challenges related to model integration, data exchange, and clash resolution. They should have ability to have analyse issues and find practical solutions.
• Ensuring the quality and accuracy of BIM models and data is vital. BIM Coordinator should have and eye for detail and the ability to conduct quality checks and audits.
• Clear communication is essential for conveying design and coordination information to various stakeholders. BIM coordinators should be able to communicate complex technical concept effectively.
• Collaborating with other BIM team members and project stakeholders is a key aspect of the role. A cooperative attitude is important for successful coordination.
• Technically proficient in all aspects of BIM and interfacing and interpreting in engineering requirements.
• Effective in building good working relationships within complex structures, both internally and with various project stakeholders.
• Knowledge of using information models for measurement, construction scheduling, cost management is desirable.
• Demonstrable expertise in creation, analysis, and simulation of information models, within the project delivery and asset operation lifecycle
• Advanced skills in software supporting the creation, analysis, simulation e.g., Autodesk Civil 3D, Revit, Navisworks and Infraworks, 3DS Max.
• Expertise in software for automation of routines to support standards and improve productivity like Synchro, CATO / Cost X, Solibri, Infraworks, Dynamo is desirable.
• Expertise in clash detection and coordination of all services per design standards
• Experience in model-based drawing production.
• Knowledge of 3D rendering, visualization and simulation.
• Knowledge of COBie specification and ability to export files from models.
• Expertise in content creation such as parametric families and type catalogues.
• Knowledge of collaboration platform like ACC or other project management tools used for sharing and reviewing BIM Model is essential.
• The ability to adapt to changing project requirements, software updates, and new technologies are crucial in the fast-evolving field of BIM.
• Knowledge of international standards, such as ISO 19650, and related standards.
• Familiarity with internationally recognized classification systems (e.g., Uniclass, Masterformat).

Key Responsibilities:
• Development and maintenance of PWA BIM object library for roads, Drainage and Buildings design in coordination with PA.
• Delivering of in-house trainings, seminars, and workshops for internal staff.
• Supporting PA in BIM project setup and technical reviews of BIM project deliverables.
• Development and maintenance of quality assurance procedures and related checklists.
• Support Compliance reviews and quality assurance of BIM project deliverables.
• Reviewing / Performing model-based clash detection.
• Monitor and review BIM project delivery in terms of key performance metrics and quality through project audits and reporting.
• Research, development & innovations for business needs.
• Coordinate project teams in BIM project set up and ensure compliance with BIM Execution Plan (BEP).
• Execute BIM workflow and ensuring that any potential issues during modelling, clash detection and data conversion is dealt with efficiently.
• Setup project specific guidelines for BIM Technicians, and responsible for linking information across disciplines.
• Proficient in using BIM authoring tools to provide technical support and mentoring
required to the project team.
• Manage and maintain project content and source any additional content as required.
• Assigning information requirements to stakeholders and supporting the BIM Specialist activities.
• Understand and ensure any changes in procedure and standards are effectively communicated to project teams.
• Communicate effectively and offer support across project teams.
• Coordinate production and reviews of information models across disciplines.
• Information model quantity extraction and verification.
• Perform 4D construction sequencing / simulation using Autodesk Navisworks or Synchro.
• Assist staff in the department and provide technical support.
• Ensure that the design standards align with Ashghal’ s CAD / BIM / GIS strategy
and link appropriately with the wider business.
• Provide guidance and assistance with design projects to ensure they are setup and progress optimally.
• Assist in monitoring and reporting BIM implementation within the Department.
• Coordinate and align with the Corporate BIM team in PWA.
• Provide Inputs and involve in the R&D to provide solutions related to Digital Construction.
• Provide Inputs and involve in the integration of digital tools in BIM environment to optimize processes and make them more efficient in the Ashghal initiative of Digitalization.

Qualifications & Criteria:
• Minimum of 10 years graduate experience in architecture or civil engineering on major buildings and/or infrastructure (roads, drainage) projects.
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in BIM projects and software like (e.g., Revit / Civil3D, Navisworks, Solibri, Synchro, Infraworks).
• University degree from a recognised university in an appropriate field such as Engineering, Architecture or Construction Management or equivalent.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
