Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

Client is a leading international contractor has an urgent requirement for a Planning Manager for one of its Oil & Gas projects in Qatar.

This role is only suitable for single status with camp accommodation provided.

Roles and Responsibilities:

* Develops systems and procedures for project control functions from the conception of the project and when there are additional requirements from the client in order to facilitate the process of project monitoring
* Develops implements, executes, updates and monitors project controls including planning, scheduling and cost control activities
* Responsible for cost and schedule status reporting forecast reviews and other reporting tasks
* Monitoring scope, budget, schedules and work in progress to ensure project plans are implemented effectively
* Responsible for identifying and tracking all changes or potential changes to the project scope ensuring estimates of cost changes and schedule impacts are communicated to the clients and project management
* Established the load schedules with resources, load materials and cost
* Conducts cost analysis and cost control activities for projects
* Coordinates with various Managers to ensure that the project is moving as per the plan and schedule, and ensures that the project is in line with the cost estimates and within the set budget

Requirements

Suitable candidates who fulfill the following criteria are asked to apply.

Qualifications and Experience:

* An internationally recognized degree in an engineering discipline
* Construction Management Masters in Engineering
* Project Management qualifications will be considered as an asset
* Shall be a member of an internationally accepted professional institution
* Minimum 15 years work related experience in infrastructure and roads projects with extensive contracting background
* 3 - 5 years of experience at a Senior Engineer level with site experience
* Shall possess strong skills in preparation of planning, scheduling and progress control activities in multidiscipline Infrastructure, Buildings projects
* The job will require a lot of interaction with other disciplines and therefore good inter-personal and communication skills are required
* Requires a good general multi-discipline knowledge / awareness
* Must have the ability to originate / prepare from design information, in conjunction with discipline engineers where necessary Networks (precedence), Work schedules, Progress monitoring reports, Management reports
* The job will require a lot of interaction with other disciplines and therefore good inter-personal and communication skills are required
* Ability to negotiate successfully with clients and contractors through engineering and construction phases of the project
* Shall be technically conversant with all aspects of civil engineering
* Proficiency in project control, planning and reporting software (preferably Primavera P6)
* Proficient in Microsoft Office suite of software programs and email
* Solid command of the English language, spoken and written
