Project Director

Job description / Role

The position-holder shall:
• Be an Exhibition Project Director with twenty (20) years of expertise on large scale, multi gallery, multi-disciplinary exhibition fit-out installation, preferably five (5) of which with project experience of working in the GCC;
• Have a minimum ten (10) year experience with commercial experience on prestigious museum and exhibition projects.
• Have intensely worked on pre-tender, design and design management, construction, finishes and project hand-over activities;
• Be an expert on contract and construction management including obtaining quotes from subcontractors and suppliers, coordinating with the client for design enhancements and upgrades, procurement of all project material from local and international sources, primary schedule plans and budgets;
• Have supervised and managed multiple gallery exhibition installations, monitored their scheduling and programming and evaluated contractors’ offers, payments and claims;
• Be punctilious about quality control of the design, construction materials and the workmanship;
• Be accustomed to dealing with different Codes and Specifications from countries world-wide and communicating with staff from different countries;
• Have been, in the course of his work, well versed in intensive quality control inspection trips locally and internationally;
• Be an expert in managing a very large group of multi-disciplinary personnel, and most importantly, he should have evident traits of leadership and should be charismatic;

Requirements

• Min. Experience in exhibitions: 20
• GCC Experience: 5 preferably
• Commercial exp: 10
• Possess excellent English language and communication skills;
• Be educated to a Post Graduate and/or Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management or equivalent discipline relating to exhibition design; and
• Optionally, possess one or more memberships with recognized project management organisations
