Job description / Role
Project Director (Rail) - Qatar
Linum Consult’s client is major consultancy operating in the Middle East. Due to continued growth, they are currently seeking a Project Director specialising in Rail construction projects to join their team in Qatar.
RESPONSIBILITIES
• Managing the relevant part of the master schedule for the company’s main project
• Managing inputs for the work breakdown structure (WBS) of the project master plan coming from the other directors
• Coordinating the handing over of assigned sections of the project to the future owner via a committee
• Supporting the tender process including publishing the tender, delivering the tender documents to interested bidders and tender evaluation following the WBS of the project master plan
• Managing contracts with sub-contractors for all works, such as civil works, track work, M&E sub-systems, signalling, rolling stock, power supply, etc. to be done for the different sections of the project in a timely manner
• Managing the supply chain, the procurement, and the quality management processes
• Overseeing documentation of all processes, including in-coming and out-going correspondence and technical submittals.
• Planning and leading regular progress meetings and preparing meeting minutes
Requirements
• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering
• At least 15 years’ experience working in the rail industry, with a minimum of 10 years of project management experience at a senior level
• Strong technical knowledge of local legislation and regulations, and stakeholder management
• Excellent communication, relationship building, and teamwork skills
