Location: Doha, Qatar

Thales in Qatar is part of our Middle East business that has 1,800 people across Egypt, Iraq, Kuwait, KSA, Lebanon, Oman, Pakistan, Qatar and UAE. Our people are working on two major urban rail projects; the Doha Metro and Lusail Tramway and providing security and communications systems for Hamad International Airport and Doha Port as well as delivering world-class In-Flight entertainment and Connectivity systems.

We are currently looking for a Project Manager - Communications to join the Thales team in Qatar.

Role & Responsibilities:

Provide overall direction and management of the communications subsystems in the Doha Metro project. The systems are Radio Tetra, IP Network and WI-FI, Telephony, On-board equipment, PAS/PIS/PES, Clocks and Help points.

- The Project Manager- Communications will interface with SCADA/Security Systems/Off-shore Project Managers, third parties, delivery managers, etc. Will also interface with customer for direct systems in his scope.
- Will manage the following:
- High level design and the snag list
- Low level design (installation design, as built, etc.)
- Procurement follow-up
- Installation follow-up with the Delivery Managers
- Testing & Commissioning activities
- Schedules: Will conduct these activities listed above with the PMO team.
- Quality/HSE: A special focus on Quality and HSE subjects has to be done, see hereafter.
- Reporting: All reporting are due, for all the interfaces.
- Low level design and BOQ: Linked to the next activity, BOQ, configuration has to be sustained.
- Procurement/Supply Chain: A dedicated attention is needed regarding the supply chain and the continuity of work.
- Human Resource: To participate and bless the recruitment of the team. To maintain and increase the skills and knowledge of the team.
- Budget Control: To manage the workload he/she is in charge of.
- Risks Analysis: To maintain the risk log.
- DNP: To collaborate with the DNP manager in order to maintain the COMs systems availability.
- RAMS knowledge and help the RAMS team to the monthly reporting.
- Legal: To provide the inputs regarding the legal aspect of the project, such as letters claims etc.
- Payment event follow-up: To be pro-active in payment event collection.

Requirements

Desired Experience & Skills:

- 10+ years in Project Management activities preferably in Transportation
- Experience in COMs systems / BMS / Security systems
- Good written and verbal communication. Fundamental fluent in English.
- Ability to identify potential problems and propose solutions.
- Ability to work in group by delegating activities and following up the delegate's performance.
- Experience in Microsoft applications, planning tolls, ERP (preferential)
- Should have transportation domain experience
- Experience in GCC and knowledge of Arabic language will be an added advantage.

Education Qualification:

- BSc/BEng in Mechanical/Electrical/Telecommunication Engineering.
- Chartered Project Manager from recognized professional body.
