Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

We are currently looking for a Chartered Project Manager -Marine with excellent dredging experience to join our multi-billion dollar project in Doha,Qatar

You will provide all on-site field construction management activities associated with the completion of assigned construction package(s). Monitors performance of the construction supervision team to confirm compliance with contractual requirements.

Applies a comprehensive knowledge of various disciplines to be used during construction, as well as the methods and techniques to be utilized for installation; contractual obligations and technical aspects of all items to be constructed.

Supports the Project Manager in the management of construction projects to monitor on-schedule completion within or below budget in accordance with contractual obligations; and monitors risks/problems and helps develop options to resolve. Works with the various consultants and contractors to manage and direct overall planning of construction activities to identify critical milestones and priorities. Determines staffing requirements for the defined scope and schedule.

Monitors the services of subcontractors and major construction equipment required by the project will be available at the appropriate time to ensure maximum efficiency and productivity.

Manages and reviews assignments for Construction Superintendents for various work areas of construction operations, monitoring progress and recommending corrective action as necessary.

Manages the assignment of manpower, materials, and equipment to maximize efficiency, maintain schedules, and to meet budget goals. Keeps alert to possible problem areas and takes preventative action to ensure that critical milestones are met for each phase of the project.

Oversees establishment of Project Execution Plan, Health and Safety Plan, Quality Assurance/Quality Control Plan, and other documents required from the construction contractor. Coordinates RFI responses, monitors change orders, and makes recommendations to client for construction progress payments.

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

4-year degree in Engineering or related technical field.

15 years of related work experience providing marine and dredging services.

Further Qualification Required:

Proven ability to perform in a management capacity, excellent written and oral communications skills, and a thorough knowledge of industry practices and regulations are also required. In addition, must be knowledgeable of current technology and how it can be effectively utilized on the project.

Experience in the construction of large marine and/or dredging projects at domestic and/or foreign locations is preferred.

Chartered Engineer required
