Purchasing Manager

Job description / Role

• Researching goods and products carefully based on quality, prices, and delivery & payment terms
• Evaluating vendors based on their business history, reputation and supplying capabilities and maintaining long-term partnerships with top vendors
• Ensuring quality compliance measures are met “industry standards and/or Tadmur Holding Purchasing Standards”.
• Strictly define & follow spending limits/budgets for every item purchased while maintaining the flow of products necessary for sustaining daily operations
• Work with respective function(s) to establish and implement a paperless/computerized purchasing system that does away with hard copy (paper) purchase requisitions and purchase orders.
• Work with relevant departments to manage inventory requirements establish and implement purchasing standard operating procedures
• Work with Mgt to centralize the purchasing function across the group
• Manage purchasing activities to ensure all items are purchased and delivered within budget and time constraints
• Establish and update an approved vendor/supplier database
• Manage risk relating to quality, cost, delivery and supply of purchases
• Work with relevant departments to manage inventory requirements
• Develop and manage purchasing budgets and forecasts
• Oversee the operations and daily activities of the purchasing department
• Create a paperless purchasing procedures

Requirements

• College degree in business, materials management, operations management, engineering or related field with at least 10 years of experience in Purchasing/Procumbent management role
• Experience in purchasing/procurement, purchasing/procurement professional certification is preferred
• Working knowledge of project management principles and practices
• Working knowledge of all laws and regulations relating to purchasing/procurement and contracts
• Knowledge of purchasing and supply chain systems, LEAN principles of planning and MRP/ERP systems often required
• Financial acumen
• High competency level in MS Office applications
