Senior Architect Stations Manager

Job description / Role

Dedicated to one line of the metro network, the Senior Architect Stations Manager will review, follow up the architectural, finishes and interior design of the stations developed by the DB contractor against; The branding design, The contract, the local regulation and the state of art. Assisted by the Interface Manager, he/she will also be part of the project teams in charge of the line to follow up the technical progress and the weekly/monthly meetings with the DB contractors.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Strategic:
• Ensures consistently in the interior design of stations and compliance with the approved branding.

Operational:
• Review and comment the architectural and interior design drawings in the approved timeline.
• Review and comment the finishes selected and the material approval request
• Coordination and synthesis between the architectural, MEP, Landscape and structural design
• Material and sample approval
• Mock up installation approval
• Review and approve the technical details and method statement
• Review the snagging list and lead the project close out for that

People:
• Work closely with the overall Architectural department to create a synergy between the stations
• Pro-active within the project team of the metro line
• Knowledge transfer

Requirements

• Education: Architect degree
• Minimum of 12 years’ experience
• Experience in Rail Projects and architectural metro stations design
• Experience in large scale buildings

Skills:
• Technical design
• Design Management (time, quality, sustainability)
• Construction regulations and international standards
• Autocad, Revit, Bim, Ms office

About the Company

The formation of Qatar Rail began back in 2011 when the Qatar Rail Company was created. The Qatar Rail will be the owner and manager of Qatars rail network and will be responsible for the design, construction, commissioning, operation and maintenance of the entire rail network and systems.

Qatar Rails preliminary scope of work includes: - Development of railway sector regulatory framework - Development of railway sector policies and strategies including fare policies - Development of railway standards, including safety, environment and customer service standards - Integrate railway services with other modes of transport - Appointment and oversight of Program Management Consultants to ensure delivery and performance - Enforcement of regulations and standards on rail services operators - Cost Management, economic/ cost-benefit management
