Responsibilities
- Review of daily force reports, verification of quantities installed and approval for the release of free issue materials to the Contractor, initial review of Contractor requests for information (RFI) and facilitating coordination meetings
- Responsible for the day-to-day surveillance and inspection of construction activities within their discipline
- Ensure timely reporting and assist in investigation of all HSE incidents on their jobs including identifying corrective actions to mitigate/eliminate hazards;
- Monitors construction progress and ensure labour, equipment and material resources are available and effectively used in accordance with construction plan
- Responsible to co-ordinate sequential work activities between contractors (e.g. scaffolds);
- Compile, review and develop work packs in accordance with the implementation process, associated standards, specifications and procedures
- Develop Installation Narrative/ Method Statement for Installation Work Pack
- Develop Construction Man hour Estimates and Activities Sequence
- Liaison with Client Campaign, Shutdown and Operations when required
- Raises Non Conformance Reports for any defective or non-conforming workmanship or materials.
- Ensure that Non Conformance Reports and Corrective Actions are prepared, collated and that they are closed out prior to Turnover.
- Ensure the Contractors prepare documentation for field tests that require review and approval by the Client.
- Supervise Vendor Representatives attendance in line with the schedule and verify that the work is performed by them before they depart site.
- Ensure that constructability is inherent within the design by being involved at the early stage of work scope and installation work pack compilation/development in accordance with company and project objectives
- Provide Construction Input to Scope of Work/ PSSR (Pre-Startup Safety Review) Document
- Develop proposed Installation Strategy
- Participate in Project Kick-Off Meetings
- Develop Installation Plan- address accessibility, craneage, laydown area, hot work requirements, shutdown requirements, etc
- Develop Rigging and Materials Handling Plan
- Develop TOR and Conduct Constructability Review, Construction Risk Assessments, Lessons Learned
- Ensure that all systems are complete and that all activities necessary to get the system precommissioned have been performed and documented.
- Ensure that all testing, precommissioning, and Turnover activities are progressing in line with the Project Schedule and the Client team signs-off the relevant check sheets.
- Work closely with the Construction Superintendents to ensure that the contractors produce the required quality of work in line with the Projects drawings and specifications.
- Work closely with the Construction Superintendents to ensure that the Contractors understand and produce QC documentation and that it is generally handed over in the correct system priority.
- Produce reports on Construction, QA/QC, Precommissioning and Turnover progress.

Quality Assurance
- Responsible for working within the provisions and guidelines of the Quality Assurance systems.

Safety
- Responsible for personal safety safe working practices. Understand and follow OH&S procedures.
- Promoting health, safety and environmental awareness.

Requirements

- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical or Civil Engineering from an accredited university
- MME (Ministry of Municipality and Environment) engineering accreditation is a mandatory requirement. Candidates not holding this accreditation must be willing to achieve this within the probationary period.
- Experience in Brown Field Oil and Gas related Project Delivery as Field Engineer/ Construction Engineer in a multidiscipline workforce
- Experience in Productivity measurement, resource-based planning (Level 4 Scheduling)
