Senior Geologist

Job description / Role

• The Senior staff should be able to provide engineering design services required for hydrogeology, groundwater modelling, geology, karst, geophysics, geotechnical engineering.
• The works shall be under the supervision of the project manager as per his directions. The jobholder assesses the integrity of soil, rock, groundwater and other natural conditions prior to major construction projects.
• They advise on procedures required for such developments and the suitability of appropriate construction materials.
• The jobholder works closely with Project Managers for the review and validation of geological studies findings with respective clients and authorities. He shall stay abreast of the latest trends and developments in geological studies.

Requirements

• Chartered or Licensed Professional Geologist (or equivalent international certification).
• MS in Geology or Geological Engineering from an accredited institution is preferred.
• Minimum of 15 years of relevant experience in design and supervision of geology supporting disciple hydrology, groundwater modeling, geotechnical, karst, geophysics, geotechnical engineering.
• Track record of geological studies
• Understanding of international engineering standards and codes
• Understanding of fundamental principles of mineralogy, petrography, soil mechanics, and hydrogeology
• Excellent quantitative and analytical skills
• Strong communication and presentation skills
• Strong interpersonal and managerial skills
• Proficiency in spoken and written English; Arabic is an advantage
