Job description / Role
An experienced and highly capable Senior Oracle Database Administrator is required to join a talented and growing team, working for a major banking organization.
This role will be responsible for the planning, implementation, configuration, and administration of all database management systems in the organization.
The successful Senior Oracle Database Administrator will be responsible for enterprise-wide Database support for complex system and interconnected technologies that require day-today support and administration in order to maintain optimum performance and utilization.
This will include Database availability, performance, capacity management as well as change, incident and problem management duties.
Requirements
The database environment is predominantly Oracle (11g moving to 12) as well as some SQL Server (2012). Candidates will need to be well versed in the Oracle Suite of tools and products, including RAC and Dataguard in particular. Any experience with SQL would be preferred. The environment is cross-platform so ideally candidates will have knowledge of working on both unix and windows platforms.
Due to the complexity and critical element of the systems, candidates will need prior experience of working within mission-critical environments, and any financial services experience is preferred.
